Jose de San Martin is the Libertador of Argentina, Chile, and Peru. He was born in the Americas to Spanish parents and returned with his family to Spain when he was only six years old. Even though he was only a little boy when he left the Americas, his love for the country of his birth was so strong that he abandoned a brilliant military career in Spain to join his countrymen in the war for Independence.
