Barbara Garner's varied academic career has included primary school teaching, being a member of a unit to supply teaching in both primary and secondary schools in Leicestershire and a Teaching Fellow at Leicester University School of Education. There she trained PGCE students to become primary school teachers. Her wealth of knowledge coupled with her great counselling skills afforded her many years of admiration and respect by her many students. This small book represents but a small sample of her poetry: these poems were written and used to help children expand their vocabulary at a very important stage in their education.
