At first when 15 year old Caro's family moved to the planet Clytie, she was thrilled. She and her brother Ricky loved to explore, and everything was new and exciting to them on Clytie. Caro looked forward to helping her parents with their science experiments, but even more so to discovering for herself all the different creatures that lived on the planet. And, of course, Caro could hardly wait to be reunited with her best friend, Sherri, whose family had come to Clytie 6 months earlier. But life on the new planet isn't all that Caro dreamed it would be ... In fact, some things about Clytie are downright nerve-shattering. For one, Caro couldn't get used to the sky being ice-green, and 24 hours of sunlight, and the rigid thinking Central Scientific Community that governed the Main Base where she lives. The worst of it all, though, was that Sherri acted like Caro didn't exist. Then, trustworthy, fun, Uncle Lee disappears, and Caro's and Sherri's parents are mysteriously whisked off to the dark side of the planet to the End Base, and rumors of all kinds of catastrophes are flying hard and fast at school. If that wasn't enough to worry them, Caro and her friends discover a hidden message under a stamp on the last envelope sent by Uncle Lee. The message is a warning about the deadly and mysterious Lumini lupus, creatures who live in the End region. The warning has come to late for their parents--or has it? Caro and friends decide to take matters into their own hands ... Book One of The Orbits of Clytie Series. Young Adult Science Fiction Fantasy, Ages 12 and up.__________________
