Presents the history of the Chaldean people from ancient Mesopotamia to today's community leaders. Examines one of civilization's oldest yet least known and understood ethnic cultures. To truly understand who the Chaldeans are, one has to travel back in time to Iraq's ancient Mesopotamia, thousands of years before Christ. The Chaldeans were a small, but significant ethnic and cultural minority from villages in the north, who in the early 20th century began immigrating to the United States. Today their population far exceeds that of their original home villages. This work focuses primarily on populations located in Southeast Michigan, southern California and Arizona that brought with them the age old traditions of family values, fervent religious beliefs and a brave entrepreneurial spirit all of which have shaped their future in this new land. Today, these people play an important role in the area's cultural, business and professional life. Presents an intimate glimpse of their everyday lives where they work, worship and play in their adopted country.
