Jimi Smith was determined to become a famous investigative journalist, but when her high school exposé turned out to be a major embarrassment, she altered her direction in life. Now she's broke, unemployed, and back in Ditters Ferry, Idaho, where the only job available is writing at the local newspaper. Jimi gets her big break when she discovers a dead body in the river. The victim is Herbert Greene, her vindictive boss' estranged husband, and when Mrs. Greene finds herself the prime suspect for the murder, Jimi is her only recourse.
