World War II, Battle of the Bulge, Christmas Eve. Sergeant Dennis Sturgis is separated from his troops in the wilderness of the Ardennes forest. As war rages around him, he is now scared, alone, and in a very dangerous place. Just one year removed from the safety and comfort of his loved ones at home, he now finds himself seeking shelter in a bombed-out church building--in a town he never knew existed. With only the memories of Christmas's past to comfort him, he slowly starts to realize that even though St. Vith, Belgium, is a war-torn village a world away from his home, there are still traces of the Christmas spirit. Before he knows it, he comes face to face with an unlikely ally. With their only bond being the faith that the two young men share, they form an impossible friendship, and are forced to band together in a struggle for survival.
