Stephen Murphy's first collection of poetry wonders at the power of the sea, "treat it with contempt at you peril". While at sea as part of HMS Herald's ship's company, Herald responded to a mayday call from a sinking ship, this episode inspired such poems as Christinaki and Neptune's Wrath.
