Aunt Hattie, Aunt Mattie, and Aunt Pattie, As Different as Can Be is a read-aloud story in rhyme. The sisters’ distinct preferences are portrayed with vivid watercolor illustrations. These pictures capture young listeners and encourage them to follow the storyline. This happy story is a welcome addition to a child’s reading time. Betty Jane Purdy lives on Anderson Island, Washington, with her husband and only sister. She started writing poetry in high school and continues this love in her writing of children’s books in rhyme. Aunt Hattie, Aunt Mattie, and Aunt Pattie, As Different as Can Be is her second book in the series. When she was just fifteen years old, Natalie Wolffe was asked to provide the artwork for this book in the style of the previous illustrator. Loving to draw and paint, Natalie accepted the challenge and offers a younger version of the Aunt trio in this charming “sisters three.”
