Young Raja Tannous knows the stories by heart. He dreams of learning the secrets of his family's past, and healing the darkness of his homeland, now ruled by an evil king named Lowsapa, who has stolen the peace and destroyed its prosperity.

Raja's mother reveals a secret about his great-grandfather, and Raja decides he must find out for himself the truth of the stories. But in the face of tragedy and change, Raja's childhood is cut short in an instant.

As Raja grows further and further from the knowledge he once sought, an unexpected encounter brings him
