Margaret Cardenas lives in a small rural community in the mountains east of San Diego with her husband and animals. The Willie stories were written for her grandchildren, but they were also enjoyed by the students she worked with, so she decided to share the stories with all children. Willie and Bo are pets owned by Margaret and her husband, and for the most part the Willie stories depict their true behavior.
