In Brian Mancuso's first novel, he takes us on a journey through the adult life of once successful photographer, Spencer Donovan. From a unique perspective, we alternate between the present and the past in the respective chapters in the novel. We join Spencer as he deals with struggles, obstacles, addiction, and his family life. In the novel, Spencer tries to overcome mistakes from the past, as he searches for answers and closure. We sit shotgun, (or maybe in the back seat, ) across an eight state trip from Buffalo, New York to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in an effort to see his hospitalized father.
