Obstruction of Justice is the story of how a Small Business Administration (SBA) program set up to help minority-owned businesses destroyed Kyle Engineering Company, a minority-owned business, and the dreams of its founder.
After struggling mightily to overcome the grinding poverty of his youth, John went on to found Kyle Engineering Company offering vocational training to disadvantaged youth in the Watts area of Los Angeles, California, to help them overcome the same obstacles he had faced.
Kyle Engineering Company was a success - - until corrupt and inept officials at the SBA lured John into signing a contract they knew would cause the downfall of his business, and gain from his loss. He could not let the issue rest. He fought them with everything he had.
The loss of John's business left him with a profound feeling of standing up for what is right. Obstruction of Justice is about complaints filed, lawsuits and a lifelong termination to help those less fortunate, stemming probably, from starting out life as one of them. Ending his fight of 50 years, John is hopeful the future will see minorities taken seriously and treated respectfully when hearing their complaints in the court.
Without another 12 years to fight the injustice he experienced, he will, however be praying for equal treatment for all God's people.
