Jake Miller aka Jakob Schulz is one of Germany’s most famous actors – always caught in a scandal, usually in relation to women. When he comes to the peace and quiet of the Scottish Highlands to learn horse-riding for a new movie he’s going to star in, Alyson is sure: this arrogant bloke who seems to think no woman would ever be able to resist him will certainly not make her heart flutter in the slightest. Not even with Christmas approaching and her desire to spend the dark, long nights in the warm embrace of someone she loves.
Things take a turn when Alyson’s horse Hamlet gets seriously ill, and Jake suddenly shows a caring, sympathetic side of himself she would have never expected. She slowly starts to wonder whether there could actually be more to him than his shallow appearance allows anyone to see.
