Thriving in College with ADHD uses cognitive-behavioral and psychoeducational techniques to address ADHD and related impairment in a way that is tailored to the needs of college students. This manual distills the expertise of four psychologists with extensive experience helping students with ADHD. The treatment is designed to be effective, flexible, and feasible. Modules address organization, time management, planning, and academic skills, adaptive thinking, healthy lifestyles, relationships, and other life skills. They can be used with individuals or groups and as an abbreviated or comprehensive treatment, tailored to client needs. The accompanying student workbook will increase the treatment’s impact and keep college students engaged in learning new skills. Any mental health professional working with college students with ADHD can benefit their clients by adding this approach to their toolbox.
Developed by four professors who also happen to be ADHD experts, this interactive and customizable workbook provides coaching to students with ADHD to make skills like managing time, motivating and organizing oneself, and "adulting" a workable part of everyday college life. Other books for college students with ADHD only describe personal experiences or just give advice, but this workbook promotes learning through interactive exercises and behavioral practice. It will allow you to address issues most relevant to your needs at whatever pace feels right. Modules are designed to be engaging, digestible, and activity-oriented. With practice, you will come away with improved skills that will help you to succeed in college, and to live your best life. This workbook can be used on its own; however, an accompanying Thriving in College guide for therapists uses an approach that mirrors what you will be learning and doing. If you have this workbook and are getting support from a therapist, encourage them to use the therapist guide along with you! Parents can also benefit from information in this workbook, to help their college students along the way and to understand ADHD and how it impacts the college years.
CRC Press is pleased to introduce the new edition of Commonly Asked Questions in Thermodynamics, an indispensable resource for those in modern science and engineering disciplines from molecular science, engineering and biotechnology to astrophysics. Fully updated throughout, this edition features two new chapters focused on energy utilization and biological systems. This edition begins by setting out the fundamentals of thermodynamics, including its basic laws and overarching principles. It provides explanations of those principles in an organized manner, using questions that arise frequently from undergraduates in the classroom as the stimulus. These early chapters explore the language of thermodynamics; the first and second laws; statistical mechanical theory; measurement of thermodynamic quantities and their relationships; phase behavior in single and multicomponent systems; electrochemistry; and chemical and biochemical reaction equilibria. The later chapters explore applications of these fundamentals to a diverse set of subjects including power generation (with and without fossil fuels) for transport, industrial and domestic use; heating; decarbonization technologies; energy storage; refrigeration; environmental pollution; and biotechnology. Data sources for the properties needed to complete thermodynamic evaluations of many processes are included. The text is designed for readers to dip into to find an answer to a specific question where thermodynamics can provide some, if not all, of the answers, whether in the context of an undergraduate course or not. Thus its readership extends beyond conventional technical undergraduates to practicing engineers and also to the interested lay person who seeks to understand the discourse that surrounds the choice of particular technological solutions to current and future energy and material production problems.

The Future Formula is 21 life principles that cross every aspect of every readers' life. They are intended to challenge, provoke, reinforce, and compel the reader to take some action, any action, to first include the principle in their belief system and to then implement that new belief where appropriate. It is not just ideas that leave the reader wondering about how to apply the ideas but it is both idea and recommended application. The Future Formula looks wholly at the individual, the family, and the business knowing that there are Spiritual, Mental, and Physical aspects in each and that without addressing the entire entity, that true significant change is limited. The Future Formula is a reflection of the work Mattox has done with thousands of clients worldwide over the past 15 years and will now reach a much larger audience to create the same level of life changing success.
Poetry. THE AUDIOGRAPHIC AS DATA is none other than telepathic conundrum. It is language that renders the visible as invisible and the invisible as visible thus, transmuting both states into incalculable presence.
Although Joe Klein's Woody Guthrie and Ed Cray's Ramblin' Man capture Woody Guthrie's freewheeling personality and his empathy for the poor and downtrodden, Kaufman is the first to portray in detail Guthrie's commitment to political radicalism, especially communism. Drawing on previously unseen letters, song lyrics, essays, and interviews with family and friends, Kaufman traces Guthrie's involvement in the workers' movement and his development of protest songs. He portrays Guthrie as a committed and flawed human immersed in political complexity and harrowing personal struggle. Since most of the stories in Kaufman's appreciative portrait will be familiar to readers interested in Guthrie, it is best for those who know little about the singer to read first his autobiography, Bound for Glory, or as a next read after American Radical.

Personal evangelism is the foundation for all church growth. As the culture and landscape of America shifts, people are looking for spiritual answers to life’s significant questions. However, in the increasingly crowded marketplace of spiritual ideas, people are looking to the church less and less. Will McRaney addresses this problem at the heart of the solution. If the Kingdom of God is to expand, individual Christians will have to learn to communicate their faith story in a way that is engaging, personal, and relevant to the listening culture today.

“God needs giants today, and we receive giant strength by waiting on Him.” —Will J. Harney Most believers do not rise to their full privilege in prayer. Successful prayer cannot be rushed. If we want to hear from heaven, we must allow time for God’s voice to fully break through the din of life. When we have a tremendous amount of work to be done for the day, we dare not leave out prayer. As Martin Luther observed, “I have so much to do that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer.” The real danger in not taking sufficient time to commune with God and implore Him for our requests is the slow erosion of the Spirit’s voice, when life’s static distracts a believer from what is truly important and necessary for a successful life. In this classic work on effective prayer, Will J. Harney reminds us that there are vast rewards in store for those who make prayer a priority. Prayer does not need to be a chore for the growing Christian, for it is one of the highest privileges accorded us. But to receive our divine answer, we must “pray clear through”— that is, pray continually and with urgency until, at last, we hear from heaven. "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him." (1 John 5:14–15)
