Mehrere Anwendungsbeispiele thematisieren verschiedene Aspekte des Raumes und deren soziologische Bedeutung: die Rekonstruktion „sozialer Räume“ mit statistischen Methoden, die Illustration räumlicher Beziehungen zwischen Nähe, Distanz und Ungleichheit, aber auch konkrete Interaktionen in urbanen Räumen.
