Minority invisibility has gone unnoticed in the communication discipline. It denies the existence of racial problems by consciously or unconsciously downplaying, ignoring, or oversimplifying the issues. This is evidenced from the claims of color-blindness and reverse discrimination, the belief in model minorities, and exaggerated, negative, or purposeful racial displays that permeate American culture. Using in-depth interviews with Asian-American professionals from various metropolitan areas, this study investigates these professionals' perceptions on minority invisibility and model minority status. It explores Asian Americans' ethnic consciousness on four levels, discussing how the group perceives their individual invisibility, their group members' invisibility, the invisibility of other American co-cultural groups, and finally their expectations in changing minority invisibility in the United States. The work considers diverse viewpoints on minority invisibility, model minority, satisfaction and dissatisfaction with mainstream American culture, and co-cultural ethnic relations. Arbitration in China has been aligned with international norms since the enactment of the Arbitration Law in 1994. With the continuous development of social economy and the improvement of computer science, communication engineering and electronic engineering, automo-biles are also gradually transforming from mechanical products driven by internal combustion engines to intelligent products driven by electricity. The electrification and intelligence of automobiles have brought new problems to society: on the one hand, electrically driven vehicles have lower operating noise, which makes pedestri-ans’ perception of vehicles weakened; on the other hand, with the deepening of intel-ligence, the control of vehicles will gradually be yielded from drivers to vehicles, which will largely cause the lack of human-vehicle trust. If these two problems are not solved, they will largely affect the efficiency of future road traffic and even bring potential danger. Therefore, it is necessary to explore a vehicle external sound effect as the external interaction interface of future vehicles to improve human-vehicle per-ception and enhance human-vehicle mutual trust. This paper takes the external sound design of quiet vehicles as the starting point, and divides the external sound design of vehicles into two aspects: quality design and functional design through literature research and combing of sound design related theories and methods. In the research of quality sense design, the paper explores the sound quality categories suitable for quiet vehicles based on human perception of sound quality, and realizes the decomposition of quality sense design elements through psychoacoustic experiments, and constructs the relevant design models, which provides theoretical guidance for the design of quality sense of exterior sound effects of quiet vehicles. In the functional design research, this paper conducted an in-depth investigation and study of human-vehicle conflict based on China’s road en-vironment and traffic participants, extracted a total of four categories and six types of human-vehicle interaction needs, and accordingly designed, optimized and verified the interaction information, and explored the design strategy of functional sound ef-fects.
This volume examines the role of objects in the region north of early dynastic state centers, at the intersection of Ancient China and Eurasia, a large area that stretches from Xinjiang to the China Sea, from c.3000 BCE to the mid-eighth century BCE. This area was a frontier, an ambiguous space that lay at the margins of direct political control by the metropolitan states, where local and colonial ideas and practices were reconstructed transculturally. These identities were often merged and displayed in material culture. Types of objects, styles, and iconography were often hybrids or new to the region, as were the tomb assemblages in which they were deposited and found. Patrons commissioned objects that marked a symbolic vision of place and person and that could mobilize support, legitimize rule, and bind people together. Through close examination of key artifacts, this book untangles the considerable changes in political structure and cultural makeup of ancient Chinese states and their northern neighbors.
The objectives of the investigation presented in this volume are to analyze supply, demand, and trade of protein ingredients (oilseed meals, fi shmeal, meat and bone meal) in China, as well as the infl uence of internal and external determinants and changes in the macro-economic policies on these markets. The conceptual framework used for that purpose is the basic structural model for analyzing agricultural commodity markets. The defi cit status and trade situation of protein ingredients are simulated within that framework. The results of the econometric analyses indicate that supply of and demand for soybeans have become less-price responsive in China. The relationships between livestock production and crush demand for protein meals as well as their joint oilseeds turned out to be positive. There are constraints on the expansion of soybean harvest areas in China, which is consistent with the lack of suffi cient protein meals in the country’s livestock sector. Technical change, in contrast, has a positive and signifi cant effect on China’s soybean production. China’s WTO accession does not have a signifi cant impact on its soybean imports according to this investigation; the rising livestock output is the main driving force boosting them. China’s soybean imports have become sensitive to the price development of price differences between the domestic and the world market. The regulations on Genetically Modifi ed Organisms (GMO) and food safety policy potentially have strong infl uence on the trade of protein meals and their joint oilseeds. The basic scenario result indicates that China’s soybean import dependency rate will substantially increase over the coming years.
