The text consists mostly of mineral description and addresses the interests of amateur and professional mineralogists alike. Five appendices present specialized technical data on unit cell parameters, X-ray powder diffraction, occurrence, mineral classification, and chemical analysis for the professional. The book will be a valuable aid to the reader in the identificaton and collection of minerals.
