I had the opportunity to work with the author, Vinod Kapoor, at both Doordarshan and All India Radio (AIR). His writings always carried clarity of opinion. The book is not a history of broadcasting but gently touches the contours of that chequered march of broadcasting though in an interesting manner. The author has written with flowing interest, subjects like the controversy about language, the way dramas gained prominence, the scene at the AIR during the Mahatma Gandhi assassination and also when the nation attained freedom. There are references to how AIR helped Hindi cinema grow and provide a stream of artists it nurtured. He recapitulates the contributions of some known broadcasters with anecdotal references that shaped the medium. He has strongly expressed his displeasure on denying functional freedom to the professionals, which Prasar Bharati Act had promised. He has not minced expressions in excoriating the non-professionals take charge, which, in reality, brought the downfall of Public Broadcasting. There are points where he could not restrain his anguish but that went with reason and mood. Broadcasting is a very vast subject and one cannot cover every aspect of it. Yet, the author has made a valiant attempt. The author has flair for writing and done some of the chapters with extra zest like his essays titled Zest for Music, Voices That Ring or The Mentors. This reminded me of his research on certain individuals, which showcases the enormity of broadcasting. There is amplified mention of veteran actors Jahanara Kajjan, Achla Sachdev, Om Prakash and film composers, Roshan and Ravi, who represented the entire gamut of artists who scored big later. What does organized trade portend for the future of the post–World War II trading order? Are we seeing a transition from liberalism to protectionism? These questions are central to Vinod K. Aggarwal's penetrating analysis of conflict and cooperation in trade among developed and less developed countries. In his examination of the evolution of organized trade, Aggarwal specifically analyses international regimes in textile and apparel trade. The author uses an original theoretical approach to investigate international regimes. Why are regimes desirable? Aggarwal shows how such accords can protect broader arrangements, allow countries to control one another's behavior, and minimize information and organization costs in negotiations. Several factors account for the form of regimes. The strength of regimes is enhanced by an asymmetry of international power. A hegemon is more willing and able to maintain a regime. Both the nature and scope of regimes are determined by the relative degree of trade competition and cognitive consensus among actors. As trade competition increases, and actors decide to link related issues, regimes become more protectionist in their goals and wider in their coverage. Aggarwal's theory successfully accounts for the transformation of international regimes in textile trade, demonstrating the importance of systematically incorporating international level factors into our theories. His empirical work is based on extensive archival research and interviews with key negotiators. Aggarwal concludes that the pattern of international cooperation which evolved in textile trade provides a portrait of the future for trade in other industrial sectors. He finds the trend of arrangements in textile trade disturbing and argues that organized trade will not prevent—and may in fact promote a slide from liberalism to protectionism. Regimes originally developed to counter protectionism may evolve into systems of organized protection that encourage neither efficiency nor equity. A lucid analysis of recent historical developments in textile trade, this study sheds light on the movement toward increasing protection in other sectors of trade as well. It is a significant work that will prove valuable to those who study international trade and regimes. The story revolves around the apathy of the county government leading to widespread misdemeanors and oppression by county administrative and police officials. The book is a tale of oppression, heroism and victory.

Numerous semiconducting photoelectrodes were comprehensively considered for electrochemical generation of current by using radiation in terms of continuous and effective trap as well as exchange of solar power. This dissertation illustrate the synthesis and characterization of polycrystalline cadmium selenide/trivalent ion like aluminum doped cadmium selenide/ monovalent ion like copper doped cadmium selenide thin films. Solar cells maintain great hopes to be used an environmental friendly and economically feasible renewable power sources. For this purpose semiconductor materials are being investigated. In the present investigation, deposition of cadmium selenide/aluminum and copper doped cadmium selenide samples by dip method applying amorphous as well as metallic templates. Aluminum trichloride, cadmium sulfate, ammonia,trichloroacetic acid, aluminum trichloride, sodium selenosulphate and copper chloride were utilized to deposit the samples. Diverse depositary considerations were outlined to acquired excellent samples. The materials have been characterized via XRD technique, SEM method, optical absorption measurement and electrical characteristics. The sample undergoes photoelectrochemical and thermoelectrical determination. Cadmium selenide films show dark red in color. For aluminum and copper doped samples different shades and dark brown color was obtained correspondingly. The extreme thickness of cadmium selenide became observed 0.54μm, aluminum doped sample indicates 0.74 μm as well as 0.70μm for copper doped samples. Each sample indicates hexagonal structure. International debt rescheduling, both in earlier epochs and our present one, has been marked by a flurry of bargaining. In this process, significant variation has emerged over time and across cases in the extent to which debtors have undertaken economic adjustment, banks or bondholders have written down debts, and creditor governments and international organizations have intervened in negotiations. Debt Games develops and applies a situational theory of bargaining to analyze the adjustment undertaken by debtors and the concessions provided by lenders in international debt rescheduling. This approach has two components: a focus on each actor's individual situation, defined by its political and economic bargaining resources, and a complementary focus on changes in their position. The model proves successful in accounting for bargaining outcomes in eighty-four percent of the sixty-one cases, which include all instances of Peruvian and Mexican debt rescheduling over the last one hundred and seventy years as well as Argentine and Brazilian rescheduling between 1982 and 1994.
