Anita is abducted from her home and is coerced into taking her fathers place in defending her mortal enemy Dante. Dante takes Anita on a field trip to show her his true business dealings - to which he is so proud of. She experiences his way of life that no one should ever see. She witnessed his barbaric, brutal and torturous ways of how he acquires orphaned children. How he forces his captives to live in horrid conditions and what happens when he pillages a village. She sees how he mentally prepares and challenges young boys to become the best soldiers in his command through elimination tournaments, and how he trains and molds young girls to bring the best value on the black market for his efforts. Her heart aches for those who suffer the pain and destruction he leaves in his wake. But the worst part of what she witnesses is how he uses and abuses her best friend and what happens to the Caucasians girls before entering the world of the black market. How is she supposed to accomplish such a feat after seeing such heinous crimes?

Captured here in almost 200 vintage photographs are the lives and spirits of those souls who founded Taney County and fostered its growth throughout the years. These images span two centuries to include the pioneers and early farming families of the 19th century, as well as the hometown heroes of the World Wars. Pictured here are the one-room school houses, early photos of life on the Buffalo and White Rivers, the miners of the Turkey Creek Mining Company, and various events and residents of Kirbyville, Oak Grove, Mildred, and Branson, also known as the Nashville of the Ozarks.

Either a French trapper named Goshe or the biblical Land of Goshen was responsible for the name given to Wyoming's southeast region. In 1911, the Wyoming Legislature approved a bill to create Goshen County, and it was signed by Gov. Joseph Carey. The county was extracted from Laramie County and is bordered by the state of Nebraska, as well as Platte, Laramie, and Niobrara Counties. Goshen County has blossomed from settlers passing through on the Oregon-California trail, which cut across the county, to an area that includes farming and ranching, a railroad transporting coal from the northern part of the state, and several small towns that support schools, post offices, retail entities, factories, and municipal governments. The towns of Torrington, Lingle, Fort Laramie, Hawk Springs, Yoder, LaGrange, Veteran, and Jay Em make up the county. This volume details the growth of Goshen County due to the Homestead Act of 1862, an irrigation project near Hawk Springs, and veterans from World War I who were part of a second round of homesteading.
