Currently, there is very little academic literature dealing with the topic of record collecting, and, when the topic is broached, it appears to be done so with some level of suspicion towards the record collector. As such, the only depictions of record collectors in the public domain tend to be very stereotypical and demeaning. This work serves as a new starting point in how the record collector and the practices involved are viewed and understood by considering the roots of these stereotypes, which mainly stem from the work of the Frankfurt School theorists who lived during a time of great insecurity, both in regards to new methods of production for cultural artefacts and art, but also their physical lives. Once this has been achieved, a consideration of more realistic record collecting practices takes place through discussions with collectors themselves, an examination of a collectible record label (Vertigo Records), and a diachronic analysis of the theories that have contributed to a fallacious view of the record collector. The record collector consumes his/her records on an individual basis – both in terms of person to person, but also – and crucially – even record to record. Ultimately, it is argued that one cannot define consumption through (the artefact’s) production, which most considerations of the record collector have mistakenly done.

The Camberwell Assessment of Need for Mothers (CAN-M) is a tool for assessing the needs of pregnant women and mothers with severe mental illness. It is a modification of the Camberwell Assessment of Need, the most widely used needs assessment for people with severe mental health problems. Comprehensive versions are included for research and for clinical use, as well as a short summary version suitable for both clinical and research use. The CAN-M has been rigorously developed by a multidisciplinary team at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London, and is suitable for use in mental health, obstetric and primary care settings. This book includes a review of the needs of pregnant women and mothers with severe mental illness, the rating scales, descriptions of how they were developed and their psychometric properties, administration details, a full training programme, guidance on scoring and blank assessment forms (for all three versions) for photocopying.

Handlist to manuscripts in one of Britain's major medieval repositories. Lambeth Palace Library, which dates from a bequest by Archbishop Bancroft in 1610, is one of England's major repositories of medieval manuscripts. More than half of the ninety-six manuscripts and documents containing items of Middle English prose were already present when the library was temporarily transferred to Cambridge in 1647. In the succeeding centuries further manuscript materials have continually been added, and within the last few years the library has become home to the older part of Sion College Library, an event that has added a further seven manuscripts to the present handlist. The collection at Lambeth is large enough to be fully representative of the corpus of Middle English prose: the Brut, the Wycliffite Bible, and Love's Mirror, for example, are all present, in some cases in multiple copies, as are writings by Hilton and Rolle. There are sermon cycles (including an almost complete set of Wycliffite sermons), medical recipes, historical works, and anthologies of religious treatises. Altogether the current handlist indexes almost 800 separate items, ranging from the veterinary to the liturgical. O.S. This book, HARASSMENT: VICTIMS AND THEIR VICTIMIZERS, will attempt to expose the truth about the sources and reasons for the preponderance of sexual harassment in the workplace and academia. Harassment is a pervasive social problem directed mostly toward females of all ages and races by males of all races. The underlying causes of harassment are sexism and sexism-racism that have been established in this patriarchal society as the norm for the behavior of males. This norm is not normal; rather, it is a type of psychopathologic behavior that is dangerous. Actually, these occurrences may border on fascism within a democratic and liberal society. The male entitlement theory, manhood theory and the masculine mystique all contribute to the harassment of women because males believe that they have a right to control females with physical and /or psychological violence. The reasons why women are victims will be followed by why men victimize women. Both chapters will cover the assessments relevant to the problems both women and men face in this Western culture due to our socialization practices. Men are not cognizant of the scope of their behavior; women are not often certain about how to handle difficult situations with men in the workplace and academia. Some women may be becoming too complacent and will accept abuse; while, others will in turn become aggressors toward other women and then with men in relationships.
