The book is a fascinating personal account of Gandhiji and his ideas as he translated them into his own life and encouraged others to translate their beliefs into their lives. Some of the key notions propagated by Gandhiji have been outlined in simple and practical terms such as the idea of education for personal spiritual and skills development. Also, this book emphasizes the important role that Kasturba played in the liberation movement in India and in South Africa. She is not depicted as the “woman behind a great man” but rather as an activist and leader in her own right. Her strong personality comes through the stories in this book.
Scores of women feel excluded from Shakespeare Studies because the sound of this field (whether it is academics giving papers at conferences or actors sharing performance insights) is predominantly male. In contrast, women are well represented in Shakespeare podcasts. Noting this trend, this Element envisions and urges a feminist podagogy which entails utilizing podcasts for feminism in Shakespeare pedagogy. Through detailed case studies of teaching women characters in Hamlet, A Winter's Tale, The Merchant of Venice, and As You Like It, and through road-tested assignments and activities, this Element explains how educators can harness the functionalities of podcasts, such as amplification, archiving, and community building to shape a Shakespeare pedagogy that is empowering for women. More broadly, it advocates paying greater attention to the intersection of Digital Humanities and anti-racist feminism in Shakespeare Studies.
Virginia Woolf was a talented and indefatigable writer. She was a very serious and conscious artist, interested more in the life of the mind - in sensation, thoughts, feelings, intuitions - than in the life of external action. Being an artist of great insight and penetration, she painted a picture of real life as she saw it. In her desire to paint reality she broke with the traditions and conventions of the 19th century novel. Anita Desai is also an indisputably one of the most powerful and distinguished contemporary Indian novelists in English. A novelist of considerable merit, Anita Desai has enriched the tradition of the Indian novel in English. She is a conscious artist of a high order and her concern for human has imparted profound appeal to her novels. Anita Desai, in contrast with other women novelists is more interested in the interior landscape of the mind, the thought than in political and social realities. Thus, Virginia Woolf and Anita Desai are two great artists in the realm of English fiction. Both are rooted in two totally different milieus, yet the works of two share not only in structure and themes but also in imagery, style and technique. The study of the impact of Virginia Woolf on Anita Desai provides a very fascinating and rewarding experience. Anita Desai and Virginia Woolf have taken deep interest in depicting the family structure. These two writers have their thematic nexus on the familial relationship. It is the depiction of the familial relationships, which binds the two novelists with each other in a strong bond. Though these two great writers, Woolf and Desai are from two different centuries and countries, the works of two shares in the structure, themes like loneliness, isolation, death etc. and imagery. Also, in the novels of both, there is a major role of ‘time and memory’. This book makes a modest attempt to focus attention upon the impact of Woolf on Desai. In both Woolf and Desai, we find an almost obsessive involvement with the characters’ past as a key to their consciousness, their lives. A pre-occupation with nostalgia and memory thus becomes an integral part of their craft. But these are not used as things in themselves. They are used artistically both for thematic as well as formal purposes. A careful study of the novels makes us understand how they are made to function as artistic tools. This book particularly, highlights the impact of Virginia Woolf on Anita Desai, with respect to three novels of each. These are - I) Mrs. Dalloway and Cry, the Peacock II) To the Lighthouse and Clear Light of Day III) The Waves and Fire on the Mountain I record my gratefulness to the principal of J.E.S. A young girl sat straight-backed on the edge of her chair, chewing a yellow pencilƒ She wiped her table clean with her sleeve, and with reverence, took out five clean sheets of papers. With a smile of joy, she began to write. Visited by the charming Story-Catcher, she writes stories of all kinds ? a boy who finds the eye of a dragon; a girl who finds a letter from her great-grandfather whom she never knew; the Master of Dreams who helps create dreams every night; Coco who is half-deer-half-man; and Ruby who gets a glimpse of the other side of the mirror. Finally, the Story-Catcher himself comes to meet her, with his bundle full of ideas. This enchanting collection of stories is sure to be read again and again and be remembered as a cherished book of childhood tales.
This book is inspired by my deep interaction with Buddhist monk from South East Asia and by the right seeds of spirituality sown in me by my Guru. This story is an attempt to bring to light the energies and wisdoms of our soul that leads us to the divine master within us; which unites us with the powers of the universe. Laila was a child reared with wisdom imparted to her by her wise German mother Andrea and her worldly-wise businessman father, Anand Mallya of Chennai. The duality of her parenting led to the crisis within her which the proceeding chapters unravel telling the tale of compulsion that led her to seek the truth of her own existence and to change luck on lifes path. The crises of her soul began in her as a medical student, where she lost her serenity and soulfulness to the books that were never meant for her but was making long silent promises of a bright future. This by the grace of her soul led her to find temporary solace in the glamorous high heels which brought her unfelt joy. Material as the unwise believes is not the domain of all souls and that a soul is meant to be above the material pleasures of the world. This is true only for the advanced souls, the ones who have experienced the pleasures of the world that a advancing soul was meant to experience in the realm of this world, in a lifetime. As time rolled on she realised that, this wasnt enough of a measure to provide her with the keys of the door that her advanced soul was meant to unlock as she has soaked in the material pleasures of this world for a long time.

It is the author's honest desire that both students and academicians would take something helpful away from reading this book. I am hoping that both the students and the teachers will have positive reactions to this book. We are open to hearing recommendations regarding any and all aspects of the profession. We take full responsibility for any deviations or errors that may have been overlooked, and we would be extremely appreciative if readers would bring them to our attention if they did occur.
It has been decades since many business schools outside India adopted the case study methodology for teaching almost all branches of management studies. This trend has been seen in India, too, where top management institutes have implemented the case study-based methodology as an important pedagogical tool in business education. The major issue in India, however, is a severe shortage of Indian case studies through which business schools can provide industry insights to students. This volume fills that gap. It has twenty Indian cases related to different aspects of business management. The cases cover some of the prominent disciplines of management like marketing, finance, human resource management, strategy management, operations management, accounting, and mergers and acquisitions. These cases best serve the purpose of adoption of 'case methodology' in classroom teaching or online lecture sessions for the faculty and students of business management.

This book structured in TWO different parts. These parts are as follows: Part I emphasizes on GCP (Good Clinical Practices), GLP (Good Laboratory Practices), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), USFDA-NDA/ANDA (U S Food and Drug Administrations- New Drug Approval/Abbreviated New Drug Approval) and TQM (Total Quality Management). GCP (Good Clinical Practices) is an international quality standard that is provided by International Conference on Harmonization (ICH), an international body that defines standards, which governments can transpose into regulations for clinical trials involving human subjects. Good Clinical Practice guidelines include protection of human rights as a subject in clinical trial. It also provides assurance of the safety and efficacy of the newly developed compounds. Good Clinical Practice Guidelines include standards on how clinical trials should be conducted, define the roles and responsibilities of clinical trial sponsors, clinical research investigators, and monitors. In the pharmaceutical industry monitors are often called Clinical Research Associates. GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) deals with the organization, process and conditions under which laboratory studies are planned, performed, monitored, recorded and reported. GLP practices are intended to promote the quality and validity of test data. Published GLP regulations and guidelines have a significant impact on the daily operation of an analytical laboratory. GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) Manufacturing relies on the ability to reproduce exactly a single product hundreds, if not thousands, of times. To make this possible, guidelines have been drawn up in most countries that are similar to the FDA ones described here that define GMPs. Diagnostic companies, including those manufacturing and distributing biosensors, cannot sell their products for either public or professional use unless they have been approved on the basis of these guidelines.
