“A group of friends walk into a bar...” LAST NIGHT OUT by Ty Schwamberger: Gabe, Alan, and Erin thought one last night out on the town before their junior year of college came to an end would be fitting. They were the best of friends, and not seeing each other for an entire summer vacation wasn’t something they were looking forward to. So they did what they always did on a Friday night—they went to a bar. Only this time they decided to try someplace new—the Torchlight Inn... TONES OF HOME by Thomas A. Erb: Ashley and Maurice are in love. The two of them are headed to her hometown for the holidays to share the good news with her family. Those two things would drive any young man to drink, but add the fact that he's from the South and an African-American, and they’re headed to the rural upstate town of Arcadia Falls, NY, where the reputation of toothless and inbred rednecks even scares the streetwise kid from North Carolina. Nevertheless, they’re truly in love, and Maurice is sure he's encountered more dangerous things on the gang-filled streets of Durham... OFF LIMITS by Dean Harrison: For spring break, Ellen Campbell isn’t going to party at the beach—she's taking her new boyfriend, Shawn Farris, home to Miller Falls to meet her parents for the first time. She’s very excited about it, but also nervous as to how her father, a famous crime writer, will take to Shawn, her very first boyfriend... Plus three extra shots of twisted horror for your drinking and reading pleasure!
Mariam thought it was going to be a weekend of relaxation. She has her little brother to take care of, but she can handle that without much of a problem. That all changes when Vince gets sick, and Mariam has no choice but to call the family doctor. John and Nick decide tonight is perfect to burglarize a house. They stake the place out and are delighted to find the only people inside are a teenager and a young boy – an easy in-and-out job. Or so they think. What ensues is a battle between the siblings that are home alone and the two bad men. Little do any of them know someone else plans to make a house call of their own. The ultimate 90s throwback—who put a slasher film in the Home Alone case at Blockbuster? It was Ty Schwamberger, splicing the best of the VHS era together! —Nick Mamatas, author of The Second Shooter and Sabbath “Dark, edgy, and quickly paced, Ty Schwamberger’s House Call is an unsettling, don’t-answer-the-door chiller that’s sharp as a razor, and just as deadly.” —Greg F. Gifune, author of Midnight Solitaire and God Machine
Gabe, Alan and Erin have just finished their junior year of college. What better way to celebrate than one last night out as a trio? Doing the same as always, they visit a bar; however, this time they decide to go somewhere new: The Torchlight Inn. During their time at the shabby bar they come face-to-face with seedy bar patrons, a biker gang and one strange-acting bartender named T-Bone. But all is well until Alan and Erin mysteriously disappear, leaving Gabe to try to find his friends and somehow pay the bar tab.
Kristen always wanted to be part of the "in crowd." Her social worries intensified after transferring from a small, public school to private, upscale Smithshire Academy in the middle of her high school career. She wanted so badly to be part of the social network in her new school, she didn't think twice, when one of the existing members of the popular girl's group, The K-Club, invited her over one night for a sleepover. Where all the girls whose names started with the letter "K" are going to be. Kristen's self-doubt allows her to be pulled into the group on one condition... She must first go through the initiation process that the other girls have set forth before her. What ensues is a group of popular high school girls practicing in the occult, Kristen going over to a stranger's house to "scare" them and sacrifices to secure Kristen's spot in high school legend. Will all Kristen's work be enough to appease the girls of The Killing Club and the great God of high school popularity to let her into the group? The extent of blood that Kristen wishes to get on her hands will hold the answer.
