In the lifetimes of the authors, the world and especially the United States have received three significant “wake-up calls” on energy production and consumption. The first of these occurred on October 15, 1973 when the Yom Kippur War began with an attack by Syria and Egypt on Israel. The United States and many western countries supported Israel. Because of the western support of Israel, several Arab oil exporting nations imposed an oil embargo on the west. These nations withheld five million barrels of oil per day. Other countries made up about one million barrels of oil per day but the net loss of four million barrels of oil production per day extended through March of 1974. This represented 7% of the free world’s (i. e. , excluding the USSR) oil production. In 1972 the price of crude oil was about $3. 00 per barrel and by the end of 1974 the price of oil had risen by a factor of 4 to over $12. 00. This resulted in one of the worst recessions in the post World War II era. As a result, there was a movement in the United States to become energy independent. At that time the United States imported about one third of its oil (about five million barrels per day). After the embargo was lifted, the world chose to ignore the “wake-up call” and went on with business as usual.

Knowledge is power, and new achievements are daily made in the every growing universes of knowledge. Unless we relate the new to old, no one is going to accept the newness of the work that is why the theses or statement citations have to face server criticism. Taylor believes that the citation pattern in the area of library science is much less clear and definite than that to many scientific disciplines. A relationship is always maintained between the growth of literature and the growth of knowledge.1 “Information process and information handling in libraries and information centers by quantitatively analyzing the characteristics and behavior of document library staff and library users” Bibliometric has established itself as a viable and distinctive research technique for studying science based on citation date. Citation analysis is one of the most important bibliometrics techniques involving analysis of the references forming part of communication. The last two decades have been marked by several studies on the application of bibliometrics techniques to various disciplines. There is phenomenal growth of literature. Bibliometries which is evident from the bibliographies of Pritchard and Writing2 Bibliometries is the study of and measurement of the publication pattern of all from of written communication and their authors. It is interesting to note that twenty-percent of the recent literature is related to bibliometrics.
Nanotechnology for CO2 Utilization in Oilfield Applications delivers a critical reference for petroleum and reservoir engineers to learn the latest advancements of combining the use of CO2 and nanofluids to lower carbon footprint. Starting with the existing chemical and physical methods employed for synthesizing nanofluids, the reference moves into the scalability and fabrication techniques given for all the various nanofluids currently used in oilfield applications. This is followed by various, relevant characterization techniques. Advancing on, the reference covers nanofluids used in drilling, cementing, and EOR fluids, including their challenges and implementation problems associated with the use of nanofluids. Maharashtra is an important state in India which is very large from the point of view of its area. Its population is 11,23,72,972 (based on the year 2010). Maharashtra got its independent place on 1st May, 1960. Its past goes back Before Christ and up to Middle Ages, and its cultural and literary and educational value is immeasurable. It has a very separate significant place. After the year 1960, Maharashtra swiftly underwent progress in various forms and branches of education. In Maharashtra state, there are 14 universities, which are concerned with Arts, Literature, Commerce, Science, Law, Ayurved, Agriculture, Engineering, Physical Education, Medical Science, Management etc. In Maharashtra state in order to encourage agriculture, four agriculture universities have been formed.1 Along with these educational and cultural institutes, along with their progress, the government of Maharashtra has founded libraries and their co-operation has been considered to be the most important to its library act. Libraries have been functioning in the forms of public libraries, educational libraries, area-wise libraries, and there are also libraries concerned with the administrative departments, institutes and units of Maharashtra states.2 Maharashtra has been praiseworthy from this point of view. The librarians serving in the university and college libraries are paid by the U.G.C. and Maharashtra is at the forefront in the case of library science education as compared to other states.
Traditionally, resources on terrorism and counterterrorism tend to focus on the social, behavioral, and legal aspects of the subject, with minimal emphasis on the scientific and technological aspects. Taking into account these practical considerations, the second edition of Science and Technology of Terrorism and Counterterrorism discusses the nature of terrorism and the materials used by terrorists. It describes how intelligence professionals and law enforcement personnel can detect and destroy these materials, and how they can deal with terrorist groups. This volume begins by introducing the shift in analysis of terrorist attacks after September 11, 2001 and summarizes selected case studies. It discusses the origin and nature of terrorism and the factors involved in diplomacy. Covering a broad range of topics, the book examines: Aerosol dispersion of toxic materials Bioterrorism and the manufacture, detection, and delivery of biological agents Agricultural terrorism Nuclear terrorism and nuclear weapons systems, threats, and safeguards Chemical terrorism, including manufacture, detection, delivery, and decontamination Cyber-terrorism Personal protective equipment The role of government at federal, state, and local levels The role of international agencies and their resources, capabilities, and responsibilities The National Infrastructure Protection Plan As terrorist activities increase globally, it is critical that those charged with protecting the public understand the myriad of ways in which terrorists operate. While we cannot predict where, when, and how terrorists will strike, our vigilance in staying abreast of the terrorist threat is the only way to have a fighting chance against those who seek to destroy our world.

Among the applications that are included in detail are the adsorption of heavy metals for pollution prevention and clean-up, biosensors, cosmetics, various medical applications from anti-tumor activity to bone tissue engineering, agriculture and food production, and proton exchange membranes for fuel cells. Chitin and Chitosan features: • information on molecular structure, synthesis, properties, and latest research related to chitin and chitosan; • coverage of a wide range of topics from the properties of chitosan to its derivatives and applications; • in-depth information on biomedical applications of chitin and chitosan; and • information that can be applied to other biopolymer processing engineering areas. This book will be of interest to practitioners working in a wide variety of industries for which chitin and chitosan are useful materials, researchers in biosensors and heavy-metal adsorption, and to academic researchers investigating the properties, preparation, and uses of these materials.
This book is unique in that it brings together published viscosity data, experimental methods, theoretical, correlation and predictive procedures in a single volume. The readers will get a better understanding of why various methods are used for measuring viscosity of different types of liquids and why an experimental method is dependent on fluid characteristics, such as Newtonian or non-Newtonian fluids.
