The girls of First High are going strong at the Nine School Competition! Can Honoka overcome Touko Tsukushiin's mastery of water to become Battle Board champion? And who will emerge victorious in the all-First High finals of Ice Pillars Break? It's Miyuki's overwhelming power vs. Shizuku's technical ingenuity, with both sides eager to prove something!
A suicide bombing brings the Master Clans Council to an abrupt close! Armed with only the knowledge that the explosion was triggered by corpse manipulation magic, Tatsuya sets off in search of the perpetrator along with Juumonji. After being egged on by his father, Masaki trails behind them to Tokyo in an attempt to one-up Tatsuya’s investigation. But things take a turn for the unexpected when Masaki summons up the courage to propose to Miyuki…
The rookie competition is one of the most highly anticipated spectacles of the Nine School Competition and a chance for freshman athletes to shine. First High's beloved Miyuki Shiba takes center stage during these matches to give a beautifully elegant performance. Her brother, Tatsuya, doesn't have a moment to waste as he works around the clock as part of the engineering team, relaxing only when he gets a chance to admire his sister from behind the scenes. But after his teammates fall prey to a horrific accident, Tatsuya is suddenly thrust into the spotlight and set on a direct collision course with the Crimson Price, Masaki Ichijou!
Spring is here, and the graduating seniors of First High are planning a getaway to sunny Okinawa. At the same time, Tatsuya and Miyuki will be on the island as the Yotsuba family’s representatives at a memorial service for the victims of the invasion there several years earlier. Of course, this is just a cover for their true purpose: foiling a terrorist plot hatched by some deserters and Australian operatives. Their primary target is a party that Shizuku and Honoka will be attending—What are the chances? Romance is in the air, and danger is on the horizon, making this a vacation they’ll never forget!
Miyuki's classmate Shizuku Kitayama is on her way to study abroad. For magicians, this is normally impossible, since allowing the genes of someone who can use magic outside their home country's borders is tantamount to giving up national secrets. But it's allowed to happen in one case-exchange programs. And that's how Angelina has arrived in Japan from the USNA to study at First High. But it seems she's a part of something much bigger than a simple cultural exchange!
The Ten Master Clans and the Eighteen Support Clans have gathered for a conference to raise concerns about Tatsuya's behavior. His official position is that all his actions were necessary to protect Miyuki and he has the full support of the Yotsuba, including the current head of the clan, Maya. Naturally, some of the other families are not so easily convinced. And while this captures everyone’s attention, Mitsuya Shiina vanishes without a trace, kicking off yet another incident that may affect more than just First High...
It hasn't taken long for Miyuki and her brother Tatsuya to start drawing attention at First High, though for very different reasons. When the student council takes an interest, the devoted Miyuki isn't about to sit idly by while her precious brother's talents go unrecognized! But can these two siblings change people's attitudes in a system specifically designed to separate the "Blooms" from the "Weeds"?
At the same that the leader of the USNA's elite magician unit, the Stars, traveled to Japan under the identity of an exchange student named Lina, the parasite incident wreaked havoc on the First Magic High School until Tatsuya and his friends saved the day and brought the incident to a peaceful conclusion. However, the parasite merely lost its first host and continues to wander this world. More importantly, it's found its next host-a humanoid helper robot. After copying Honoka Mitsui's behavior and patterns, the parasite has been reborn as Pixie, vowing to follow and serve Tatsuya. After learning more about parasites from Pixie, Tatsuya gathers Miyuki and the others to head towards the Aoyama Cemetery to fight against a new impending danger!
The Temple of the Wild Geese, a semi-autobiographical account of Mizukami's childhood, tells the tale of Jinen, a Buddhist monk raised by villagers after his mother, a beggar, abandoned him. Sent to live at a temple at the age of ten, his resentment smolders for years until it explodes in a shocking climax. In Bamboo Dolls of Echizen, no woman is willing to marry the diminutive Kisuke, a bamboo artisan, until Tamae, a prostitute, comes to pay her respects at the grave of Kisuke's father. In Tamae, Kisuke sees shadows of his own mother, who died when he was young, and the two eventually marry. Since Kisuke seeks only motherly affection from Tamae, the two never become lovers. Instead, Tamae devotes herself to caring for Kisuke as a mother would, and he thrives as a renowned maker of bamboo dolls.

This book brings together five topics on the application of Boolean functions. They are 1. Equivalence classes of Boolean functions: The number of n-variable functions is large, even for values as small as n = 6, and there has been much research on classifying functions. There are many classifications, each with their own distinct merit. 2. Boolean functions for cryptography: The process of encrypting/decrypting plaintext messages often depends on Boolean functions with specific properties. For example, highly nonlinear functions are valued because they are less susceptible to linear attacks. 3. Boolean differential calculus: An operation analogous to taking the derivative of a real-valued function offers important insight into the properties of Boolean functions. One can determine tests or susceptibility to hazards. 4. Reversible logic: Most logic functions are irreversible; it is impossible to reconstruct the input, given the output. However, Boolean functions that are reversible are necessary for quantum computing, and hold significant promise for low-power computing. 5. Data mining: The process of extracting subtle patterns from enormous amounts of data has benefited from the use of a graph-based representation of Boolean functions. This has use in surveillance, fraud detection, scientific discovery including bio-informatics, genetics, medicine, and education. Written by experts, these chapters present a tutorial view of new and emerging technologies in Boolean functions. Table of Contents: Equivalence Classes of Boolean Functions / Boolean Functions for Cryptography / Boolean Differential Calculus / Synthesis of Boolean Functions in Reversible Logic / Data Mining Using Binary Decision Diagrams
This book is the first digital atlas of the degu brain with microscopic features simultaneously in Nissl sections and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). As an experimental animal model, the degu contributes to a variety of medical research fields in diabetes, hyperglycemia, pancreatic function, and adaptation to high altitude, among others. Recently the degu has gained increasing importance in the field of neuroscience, particularly in studies evaluating the relationship between sociality and cognitive brain functions, and in studies pertaining to the evolutional aspects of the acquisition of tool-use abilities. Furthermore, aging-related brain dysfunction in humans can be studied using this animal model in addition to mammals with much longer lifespans. This brain atlas is constructed to provide histological and volume-rendered information simultaneously, fitting with any spatial coordination in brain positioning. It can be a useful guide to degus as well as to other rodents for studies of brain structures conducted using MRI or other contemporary examination methods with volume-rendering functions.
Looking at Miyuki and Tatsuya now, it might be hard to imagine them as anything other than loving siblings. But it wasn't always this way... Three years ago, Miyuki was always uncomfortable around her older brother. The rest of their family treated him no better than a lowly servant, even though he was the perfect Guardian, watching over Miyuki while she lived a normal middle school life. But what really bothered her was that he never showed any emotions or thoughts of his own. However, when danger comes calling during a fateful trip to Okinawa, their relationship as brother and sister will change forever...

After seeing more than enough gunfights and magical duels in between classes, this change of pace suits Tatsuya just fine. Unfortunately, not every spectator is content with simply enjoying the event. With rival students, intelligence operatives, and a foreign assassin all in attendance, Tatsuya might need more than just his wits to keep everyone safe!
With the New Year comes a wave of changes. Though few are surprised that Miyuki has formally been recognized as the next head of the Yotsuba family, no one could have anticipated her engagement to Tatsuya would be finalized at the same time. As Honoka and the others try to digest the information, the Ichijou family immediately objects to the union, proposing that Miyuki marry their scion, Masaki Ichijou, instead. Meanwhile, with the world of magic watching intently, the powerful gather to select the next Ten Master Clans...
