A tall man with long hair and a red t-shirt with black shorts and casual slippers walked out of the washroom, after a shower, and made his way to the bed. 'This was a long day. Should set up the alarm.' He said to himself as he kept his phone on the side and rested his weary head on the pillow. He looked at the ceiling, noticing chips in the paint. He further looked at all the walls around him with a sigh, 'Definitely needs a paint job.' He said with a sigh as he closed his eyes. Soon, he was woken up by a shooting pain in his left leg. It was as if he had one of those painful cramps combined with bashing his little toe against the edge of a steel table. He instinctively pulled his leg closer to himself and sat up. He tried to look at his toe and touched it. It felt like something weirdly wet and sticky. He pulled his fingers closer to his nose, in an attempt to deduce what it was as he wasn't able to see anything in the sheer darkness. He started panting in fear as he recognised the smell. It was obviously blood. He jumped off the bed and picked up his phone trying to flash its torch around the room. He couldn't see anything so, he flashed it down on his hand which was painted red with blood. Shock took over him as he looked down at his toe and saw big teeth marks on his foot, leaking and oozing blood. Just then, the side of his eye caught a glimpse of something crawling in the corner of the room. Without even taking a proper look at it, he knew it was trouble. So, he put off the torch and taking advantage of the darkness, he quietly crept to the corner and tried to inch towards the living room of the house. I need to reach the gate and get out. He thought to himself, trying to hold his panic inside. He kept an eye out behind him while inching closer to the main gate. I'm almost there. I can do this. He thought to himself as he held his tears inside and kept going. But, his fear hit back at him as he heard a weird sound behind him. Something was following him. Crawling to him. He knew it. He could feel it. The pain he felt while moving added to his overall difficulty but he wasn't ready to give up the hope, so he kept going, slowly but steadily. He kept quiet so as to not give this entity the gift of sound to track him down. He kept going, feeling a sense of victory building at the back of his head. But, just then, he felt unbearable pain in his foot. He tried to flash his torch down again, but before he could see, his leg was pulled up with a sudden swing as he dropped down and his head hit the ground. He gasped and screamed as an unbearable and unknown pain hit him, still trying to pull himself with his hands, and inch towards the door. But he realised that his attempts were all in vain, as he felt himself being dragged deeper inside the house. His eyes kept wandering trying to see what it was and find a way out of here, alive. But soon he felt something creep over his body. Then, he came face to face with his biggest nightmare. He only saw that face for a moment before something sharp pierced through his eyes and everything went dark. His struggle was over. The lamp of hope extinguished, and pure silence took over, once again. . . Will this silence ever be replaced?
