In writing this book, it is my wish to provide unmarried pregnant girls with first-hand insight on what they may or may not expect by sharing my personal thoughts, behaviors, and outcomes. I'm hoping they will find comfort and a sense of mutual commonness in reading this book. It is simply a written account of my life's experience, thus far, as a single parent. I initially began writing this book for therapeutic reasons. It was a way for me to visualize my life's circumstances so I can put them into perspective. By writing down bits and pieces of my life, I was able to analyze and evaluate the undetermined path I was on and ensure its congruency with my short- term and long- term goals that I established prior to my son's birth. This book is my gift in return or all that I have gained from reading about other parents' trials and tribulations. It is my hope that other girls and/ or struggling single parents, who find themselves in the same situation, will know there is a light at the end of their tunnel.
I own a small town bar and grill in the heart of Nowhere, Texas. My name is Mac McIntyre. My bar and I play host to the numerous characters passing through. First there's Hank, a well-known country and western star, who employs Jerry, a highly skilled and just as highly paid chauffeur. I've always wondered why a chauffeur would study Zen philosophy and every form of martial arts, but then again, I guess it's none of my business. Then there's Hank's sister, Sam, who just moved in, much to the disdain of Noreen, the resident air-head with a knack for sleeping around and hating girls prettier than her. Of course, I have no complaints against Sam, I owed Hank one. Besides, it's been a while and I needed a new waitress anyway, not that I'm trying anything. And Juan, the young boy living just over the border, can't be here every day to help. His English isn't even that great. Then there are the rest of the residents of my bar here at the crossroads, all just trying to enjoy a drink without having to kill each other, or maybe just Noreen, first. I've already been to Vietnam. I don't want to fight in any other wars. Author Bio: I was born in West Palm Beach in the same hospital six years after Burt Reynolds. Raised in Miami until I was 18, I then relocated to Cape Canaveral in '61-62. I studied engineering, but became an entertainer during the folk music craze. I don't know how, but the Original Seven astronauts sort of adopted me and before I knew it, I was an entertainer for the next 25 years. No matter where I was singing, my boss would receive a call from one of the astronauts to let me off long enough to be booked into the Cocoa Beach Ramada Inn lounge, where I appeared for every flight from Mercury through the last Apollo mission. I've lived in Los Angeles for almost 20 years, while on the road most of that time, and played in clubs from San Diego to Prince Albert, Sask. Canada (in the dead of winter, I might add.) I've been married 27 years and now reside in my husband's hometown of Jackson, Ms. keywords: Ghost Town, Saloon, Old West Opera House, Harley Davidson, Mystery, Love Story Texas, Dallas, Country Entertainer, Country Music

Almost everybody knows of God. Many even know about God. However, just as people know some people better than others, some people know God better than others. Think of it like this: When you know people on a personal or an intimate level, don't you know what they are thinking even before they say it? Or can't you read between the lines and know what they were thinking that they didn't say? You probably even know what their wishes are without them having to tell you. You know how their mind works and what they think, what makes them tick, and what makes them ticked. While God is a God of love, there is so much more to Him. He has thoughts and opinions and emotions and feelings. In the Bible, God is said to love, laugh, enjoy, take delight in, rejoice, as well as be angry, happy, jealous, and glad. Do you know Him that well? The prophet Isaiah said that God sits on the circle of the Earth and we appear as grasshoppers, yet He knows everything about us, even the number of hairs on our head. He has intimate knowledge of us. In comparison, at best, we have only touched the surface of what we know of Him. While He doesn't tell us everything He knows, He has told us everything He wants us to know. There are nuggets of truth burrowed deep in the scriptures for those who wish to learn of Him and make the effort to search for Him. Now is a good time to get to know Him better. Eternity is just ahead and it lasts a long time. We serve a great God, and He has good things planned for those who love Him. He says in Ephesians that He is going to spend the ceaseless ages of eternity showing us His kindness. That's a God worth knowing!

In her first book, Trish Ryan chronicled the ways in which finding faith lead her to the happily-ever-after ending that had eluded her for so long. Only it wasn't an ending. It was a beginning. In A MAZE OF GRACE, Ryan picks up where she left off, sharing the early years of her marriage, and the challenges that both shaped and startled her: temptations regarding fidelity, the anxiety of shifting body image, the awkward nature of following Jesus in a decidedly secular family and city, and struggles (depression, trying to conceive) that made her wonder if God had lost her file. With appealing candor, Ryan sweeps the reader into her life and ponders questions and issues that we all face, dropping nuggets of wisdom along the way that are sure to inspire, encourage and help readers from all walks of life.
