Struck Down but Not Destroyed is a study of Second Corinthians, Chapter Four, particularly verses 8-10. There, Paul lists several challenges he has experienced as a pastor and church leader, and how he met each challenge with the grace of God in his heart. He defends himself as a pastor, as a preacher, and as an apostle, countering the claims of those he calls “super-apostles” (2 Corinthians 11:5). Moreover, he commends himself to the better judgment of those in the leadership of the church at Corinth. Paul was the first to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the people at this burgeoning seaport. He was not alone, but he was the leader among these witnesses to the faith. Despite those who tried to undermine his work and deflate his authority, he never wavered in his devotion to the Lord. Whether you’re a pastor or engaged in another service vocation, you’ll be inspired by Paul’s wisdom and the author’s reflections and insights.

Included at the end of Magnolia Elegy are stories of frenetic travel after leaving the Place at midlife, and essays demonstrating the values earned from the Place and from its animal and human community. The structure of the book accommodates selective reading—it can effectively be read in any order, even backward.

The theme of this book is that the new and traditional philosophies have much more in common than the orthodox account suggests. The contributors consider not only modernity in metaphysics and the sciences but also the claims of Machiavelli, Hobbes, and Spinoza to have invented "modern" ethics and politics. These two aspects of "modernity" in philosophy are connected for the first time. The book offers a broad view of the early modern philosophers, covering not only the much-studied major figures but also relatively neglected writers: Mersenne, Gassendi, White, and Sergeant.

Life's more serious curveballs, you don't see coming. You are not prepared and you do not know what to do. And, sometimes, when the curve is real nasty, you buckle. This book tells the story of the great curveball thrown into my life. The buckle, in my case, is what has been called Kundalini Syndrome. The term refers to the troubles that can come along with a spontaneous Kundalini Awakening. It seems cliché to say something about how the big curveballs and challenges in life are the real opportunities to learn and to grow as a person. Especially considering that some things in this world are so awful that they couldn't possibly fit into a comforting expression. However, in my own story, I've found this cliché to be accurate.

In the 1960s T. C. Lethbridge’s challenging, probing studies were well established. First published in 1969, The Monkey's Tail was as remarkable as his previous investigations. Mr Lethbridge – who was trained in Natural Science before he became an archaeologist – had for years been unable to accept Darwin’s theory of Evolution. In this book he examines the theory in the light of his observations and experience. He found it wanting in every particular which he examined. In the first part of the book Mr Lethbridge puts his case against the theory of Evolution, and in the second part he shows that the known facts of Evolution could be equally well explained in another way. He had for many years been working on the ‘fringe’ study of Extra Sensory Perception, and he used that study to present an alternative theory to Darwinism. Mr Lethbridge was well aware that much more evidence was needed before his ideas could either be proved or disproved finally; but they do provide a reasoned explanation based on years of careful study. The theory he put forward was not only more compatible with observed scientific fact at the time, but less at variance with accepted religious beliefs. This book is a re-issue originally published in 1969. The language used is a reflection of its era and no offence is meant by the Publishers to any reader by this re-publication.
