FileNet is the world's leading enterprise content management system. Established in 1982, FileNet practically invented the field of Enterprise Office Document Imaging Systems. FileNet's Image Services is the industry's leading provider of high-volume systems for storing, retrieving, and managing document images, transactional content, workflows, web contents, and other business objects. More than 3,700 organizations worldwide have implemented FileNet systems to provide content management services that are scalable, highly available, and provide strong disaster recovery capabilities. They have provided solutions for 81 of the Fortune 100 companies. This book has been written to fill that information void and provide wider understanding of this complex and powerful set of products to enterprise level decision makers, project managers, and technicians. In addition, the book provides general knowledge on how to use existing document imaging and/or document management systems to provide advanced knowledge management functions.

Bullying as a Social Experience presents data from both the US and New Zealand and draws on past research from around the world to show how social context and factors shape individuals’ behaviors and experiences. By engaging with bullying from a sociological framework, it becomes clearer how bullying occurs and why it persists throughout a society, whilst also allowing for the development of means by which the social factors that support such behavior can be addressed through intervention. An empirically rich and engaged analysis of the social factors involved in bullying at group, school and community levels, Bullying as a Social Experience will be of interest not only to social scientists working on the study of childhood and youth, bullying and cyber bullying, but also to educators and practitioners seeking new approaches to the prevention of bullying, as each chapter contains discussions concerning intervention and prevention practices and programs.
Demystifying consciousness: how subjective experience can be explained by natural brain and evolutionary processes. Consciousness is often considered a mystery. How can the seemingly immaterial experience of consciousness be explained by the material neurons of the brain? There seems to be an unbridgeable gap between understanding the brain as an objectively observed biological organ and accounting for the subjective experiences that come from the brain (and life processes). In this book, Todd Feinberg and Jon Mallatt attempt to demystify consciousness—to naturalize it, by explaining that the subjective, experiencing aspects of consciousness are created by natural brain processes that evolved in natural ways. Although subjective experience is unique in nature, they argue, it is not necessarily mysterious. We need not invoke the unknown or unknowable to explain its creation. Feinberg and Mallatt flesh out their theory of neurobiological naturalism (after John Searle's biological naturalism) that recognizes the many features that brains share with other living things, lists the neural features unique to conscious brains, and explains the subjective–objective barrier naturally. They investigate common neural features among the diverse groups of animals that have primary consciousness—the type of consciousness that experiences both sensations received from the world and affects such as emotions. They map the evolutionary development of consciousness and find an uninterrupted progression over time, without inserting any mysterious forces or exotic physics. Finally, bridging the previously unbridgeable, they show how subjective experience, although different from objective observation, can be naturally explained.
