Perhaps you or someone you know exhibits patterns of instability in a particular aspect of life. This fluctuation may show up as erratic mood changes, excessive fears or worries, extreme feelings of guilt, bouts of depression, double-mindedness, addictive behaviors, sexual bondage, etc. In the New Testament, Paul teaches us that our struggle is not against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. The evil spirits that Paul referred to here are synonymous with the “wild beasts” that tempted Jesus in the wilderness for forty days. As a matter of fact, they are the same spirits that pressure us today, compelling us to the bitter realm of what the Bible refers to as outer darkness. The Old Testament reveals that these spirits embodied animals, the metaphorical doleful creatures mentioned in the book of Isaiah and throughout the entire Bible. However, God’s desire is to shine a light on these irritants so that we can cast them out and be made whole again. After all, Paul encouraged us to be openly aware of Satan’s devices, lest he should gain an advantage over us. The revelation knowledge you receive from this book will give you the insight you need to recover the parts of your life you’ve once lost or handed over to the enemy.

Paul wrote to Timothy concerning the dangers of the last days in which we live: "But understand this, that in the last days, dangerous times [of great stress and trouble] will come [difficult days that will be hard to bear]." Although darkness covers the earth and a mist of darkness is over the people, the Lord will rise upon His two witnesses, the two olive trees of Revelation 11 whose oil brings light for the Church to see by in these last days. The pressure from the world's system of witchcraft (Babylon) will crush God's two anointed ones, favorably emitting the golden oil to the nations of the world. The testimonies of these two end-time prophets will bear witness to the power of the gospel as they are given the grace to prevail over the things they suffer. They will bear the fruit of the kingdom (from the metaphorical tree of life), and their lives will produce evidence that God's power is with them to destroy the wicked (serpent) seed. They will be living proof of God's authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19).

This report provides an overview of arguments explaining the risk of corruption. Corrupt acts are subject to decision making authority and assets available for grabbing. These assets can be stolen, created by artificial shortage, or become available as the result of a market failure. Assets that are especially exposed to corruption include profits from the private sector, revenues from the export of natural resources, aid and loans, and the proceeds of crime. Whether or not opportunities for corruption are exploited depends on the individuals involved, the institution or society they are part of, and the law enforcement circumstances. Corruption usually persists in situations in which players are aware of the facts but nonetheless condone the practice. Absence of reaction can result from information asymmetries (in which the people who are supposed to act are not aware of the need to act), coordination failure, patronage-determined loyalty, and incentive problems at the political level. This review of results and insights from different parts of the scholarly literature on corruption focuses on areas where research can guide anticorruption policy. The report also describes a number of corruption-related challenges in need of more attention from researchers.
