Wearing the scarlet and grey uniform also gave cadets the confidence to speak out regarding an authoritative nurse training system prevalent in the 1940’s. Joyces wish to preserve family history compelled her to share this memoir. It shows Joyces affection for the Dyke sisters and is a fitting tribute to their extraordinary lives.
