The hypothesis that improvements in organisational climate will have a significant impact upon the vertical dyadic relationship between supervisor and subordinate is examined. Using measures of negotiating latitude, job satisfaction and organisational climate, 46 work-face and first-line supervisory dyads were assessed prior to and three months subsequent to an organisational change program. Path analysis was employed to determine that organisational climate did make a significant contribution to the vertical dyadic relationships while job satisfaction did not.
