Only a Woman deals with the felt need among women for surrender, growth, and service to the Lord. National conference speaker Terri McFaddin brings a motivational message for women to seek a deeper relationship with God by taking "radical action" for Him. While other books are centered around comforting and healing women, McFaddin recounts examples of women who reached beyond the traditional practice of Christianity "into biblical extremes designed to bring power, healing, and deliverance" to their lives -- and the lives of all around them. "Sooner or later you will find yourself searching for answers that can't be found at choir rehearsals and garden parties," says McFaddin, who offers clear answers here.
Knowing how to cite textual evidence is a key component in reading and writing in education today. This resource equips teachers with the strategies they need to teach students how to cite textual evidence when reading and writing. Secondary school students will learn how to find evidence to support their opinions, incorporate that evidence in their writing, and accurately cite their sources. The ten lessons include proper MLA formatting, paraphrasing, using block quotation, creating a bibliography, the use of credible sources, avoiding plagiarism, and more. Students will apply what they've learned through twenty practice exercises. Citing textual evidence powerfully strengthens students' writing, develops analytical thinking and logic, and readies students for college and career with lessons that are aligned to McREL, TESOL, and WIDA standards.
Humor in the Gospels is the most comprehensive resource on Gospel humor to date. Terri Bednarz reviews and critiques a 150 years of biblical scholarship on the subject from little known journal articles and out-of-print books to the most well respected classical works of today. She covers a range of scholarly discussions on the various forms and functions of Gospel humor from frivolity to witty allusions to satirical barbs. She examines the barriers of associating humor with the Gospel depictions of Jesus, the difficulties of identifying humor in ancient biblical texts, and the advances of literary, contextual, and rhetorical approaches to recognizing Gospel humor. This important work includes an extensive bibliography for further study of Gospel humor in particular, and Biblical humor in general.
The first Novel of the Stone Circles from the USA Today bestselling author of Raging Sea and Blazing Earth. What if the standing stones and stone circles across the old Celtic world had a secret origin and use? What if some opened into another world? What if the goddess of fire was trapped beneath one? Lovely and innocent Brienne of Yester has always been able to manipulate fire, but when her powers suddenly surge, the simple life she once knew explodes. Handsome, fearless, and commanding William de Brus has been summoned by the king to investigate a nobleman rumored to have powers linked to the fabled fire goddess. When he chances upon Brienne, his desire for her is immediate. But as his mystical quest unfolds, William realizes that she is at the center of it—for Brienne possesses the very power he has been sent to vanquish.... As their attraction deepens, William attempts to free Brienne from the dark force beginning to control her—even when his duty demands that he treat her as an enemy. With emotions flaring, fire rising, and evil threatening at every turn, can the two lovers survive the coming battle and save all of humanity?
The picture of grace came alive as puzzle pieces through nine states begin to unravel a web of deception. Meeting the redeemed in Ocean City set the path of visiting areas that held much history. The jewels in the rough in man's eyes were the crown jewels in the kingdom of Heaven. Satan did not like the ministry of amazing grace. What do the Pagans, the Illuminati, and the Freemasons all have in common? They all ran into a path designed by the one who is able to expose the things of darkness. As a servant for the Lord, I encountered all these forces that are against Jesus. The intriguing, mystifying journey, hoping to encourage the broken, the lost, and the weary, stirred up the forces of evil that tried to hang on to the vessels he wanted to continue to control. The Bride of Christ stood with victory as the separation of the sheep and the goats was being done before my eyes. The purpose of the journey I encountered was directed by God with vigilance to warn his beloved bride.
WINNER OF THE ASAUK FAGE & OLIVER PRIZE 2016 The author meticulously contextualises the experiences of Achebe and his peers as students at Government College Umuahia and argues for a re-assessment of this influential group of Nigerian writers in relation to the literary culture fostered by the school and its tutors. This is the first in-depth scholarly study of the literary awakening of the young intellectuals who became known as Nigeria's "first-generation" writers in the post-colonial period. Terri Ochiagha's research focuses on Chinua Achebe, Elechi Amadi, Chike Momah, Christopher Okigbo and Chukwuemeka Ike, and also discusses the experiences of Gabriel Okara, Ken Saro-Wiwa and I.C. Aniebo, in the context of their education in the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s at Government College, Umuahia. The author provides fresh perspectives on Postcolonial and World literary processes, colonial education in British Africa, literary representations of colonialism and Chinua Achebe's seminal position in African literature. She demonstrates how each of the writers used this very particular education to shape their own visions of the world in which they operated and examines the implications that this had for African literature as a whole. Supplementary material is available online of some of the original sources. Dead Aft to the Wind is the first of an adventure series that is set in the late 1700's about a young man, Nathaniel Kirk, who lost his parents at an early age. His adventure begins when he boards a ship called the Resolve where the captain takes him under his wing and teaches him all that pertains to seafaring. In the evenings, the captain teaches Nathaniel mathematics, a tool that would play a part when he discovers a treasure in the South Pacific. Amidst pirate threats, bounty hunters, and slave ship controversies, Nathaniel learns some peculiar equations along the way. It's a fun read for audiences from young adult on up. If you feel you had enough of math to last for a lifetime, it's easy to skim over the math part without breaking the continuity of the story.
AS A BRIDE, SHE WAS WORTHLESS Indeed, Catherine de Severin could offer nothing in the way of power and land. But Geoffrey Dumont cared not, and would defy anyone—even royalty—who kept his fair Cate from him! A loving marriage denied her, her memory a blur, Catherine de Severin had accepted her cloistered fate. But when Geoffrey Dumont, her soulfriend and truest love, abducted her from the nunnery, afire with reckless plans for a future together, her heart embraced him with a passion too strong to be denied!
Homiletics can be done on any book of the Bible, and any chapter of the Bible. It is a way to break down the Scripture to understand it's meaning. First, as God Himself said in His Word one must have the Holy Spirit to understand the Scripture. In II Corinthians 2:14 the Lord talks about the man without the Spirit of God indwelling him or her and how they are Spiritually discerned. So, the first step in understanding God's Word is to have Him through His Holy Spirit indwelling you. The Scripture is very clear about how this is done, there is only One way. In John 14, Jesus says, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life and no man can come to the Father except through Me." Belief in the Lord Jesus Christ as being God's perfect Lamb who has taken away the sin of the world is the only way one can be saved from the wrath of God and have His Spirit come to dwell within. Once you have His Holy Spirit indwelling you, then you have the One who wrote it living inside you to teach you its exact meaning and how to apply the Holy Scriptures to your life. Homiletics is an excellent way to spend time with the Father and let Him teach you his word. In doing Homiletics you will break the passage down into content, division sentences, a subject sentence, an overall aim of this passage, and then application questions to apply the Scripture to your life.

A Disclaimer by Miss Bea Righteous Well, my heavens! Where do I begin? First and foremost, while calamity may seem the result of my well-intentioned actions at the Gnarly Woods Senior Complex, I would like to make it clear that it is my mandate from above to protect the vulnerable, young and old, from taking that slippery slope into the devil's lair. Perhaps inadvertent collateral damage has occurred but I must preface the recounting of my struggles with the devil and his minions by declaring that I am held harmless from any and all such incidental damage or harm. Upon your wise purchase of this book (transformative!) and upon reading the chronicles within, I am fully confident that you will fully exonerate me from any wrongdoing and agree that I am on the path of righteousness. Though, of course, I do not expect any fanfare or meritorious recognition for my service "Bea Righteous sees Satan just about anywhere and especially on those smartphones. There is no limit to how much damage Bea Righteous can invoke by way of her misguided do-gooder activities... a whirlwind of chaos surrounds our heroine... If this raises a chuckle, you are a definite candidate for the Church Lady Chronicles" --Victor R. Volkan, U.P. Book Review
