Suzanne agreed to host a few of the seven Tibetan monks when they visited Ohio on their 2012 World Peace Cultural Tour. Due to a last minute change of plans, she and her husband John hosted all of the monks and their driver for nine days in their home. Although Suzanne and John are world travelers, they knew little about Tibet and Buddhism. Hosting the monks became an incredible adventure as Suzanne and John maneuvered through unchartered waters. Their friends said this was an opportunity for them to step out of their comfort zone. Upon reflection, it was more accurate to say they stepped into a comfort zone. When the monks entered their home, they also stepped into their hearts. Being in the company of these Tibetan monks was a life-changing experience. Suzanne and John were and continue to be overwhelmed with gratitude for having been placed in a circumstance where this experience literally came through their front door. Many color photographs help to tell the story of this wonderfully unexpected cultural experience. All proceeds from the sale of this book are donated to the work of the Gaden Jangtse Monastery in India, where the monks reside, and Merging Hearts Holistic Center, the organization that sponsored the monks during their stay in Canton, Ohio.
Healthcare professionals, including lactation consultants and nurses, have the unique challenge of educating the community and their patients on healthy breastfeeding and the benefits of lactation. However, breastfeeding is not efficiently represented in texts specific to health promotion. With her 30 years’ experience educating undergraduate and graduate nursing students and interprofessional healthcare providers on maternal–infant health and lactation, Suzanne Hetzel Campbell is breaking that tradition. Lactation: A Foundational Strategy for Health Promotion uses evidence-based research and a person-centered care framework to empower healthcare practitioners to advocate for and support families in their breastfeeding ventures.

Located in southeast Michigan, Eastpointe is typical of many suburban cities of middle America. During its development phase, Eastpointe's businesses and residents became involved in work or services related to the automotive industry. Structural changes occurred at a rapid rate as population density and diversity, technology, and economic changes impacted the community in rapid succession. When the automotive industry slowed, the income to Eastpointe residents, schools, and the city also slowed, yet the resiliency of the community allowed the city to survive.
You are the Christ; we are your church. Christ and Community:The Gospel Witness to Jesus casts new light on how Jesus’s followers sought to faithfully live into the reign of God as recorded in the Gospels. Dr. Henderson traces the contours of Jesus’s messiahship found in the four Gospels, but rather than taking each Gospel in turn, she works thematically, treating different aspects of Jesus’s mission and identity found across the four accounts. Rather than assuming Jesus’s exclusive status, the author exposes Gospel evidence for the clear communal implications of his messiahship. It turns out that the Gospels do more than simply affirm that Jesus is the Christ; they cast a vision of messianic community for those who would call him Lord, in the first century and beyond. This accessible introduction offers a case for Christ and community that answers perplexing questions that have long plagued NT study. "Christ and Community: The Gospel Witness to Jesus, by Suzanne Watts Henderson. One approach to understanding the Gospels as scripture is to consider their functions—specifically, how these writings describe and reinforce essential connections between Jesus’ followers and their Lord. Written as an introductory textbook, Christ and Community can help even seasoned exegetes grasp the means by which the Gospels’ stories depict Jesus’ work and identity in ways that equip Christian communities to make sense of their own work and identity."
