Information and communication technology, e-resources, e-contents, on-line mode of curricular transactions are becoming more prominent and effective in certain domains worldwide. Researches at doctoral and post-doctoral level are to be addressed the issues related to community, it needs and aspirations, curriculum (advances to be incorporate) and teaching-learning processes in order to make education updated, fulfilling the developmental needs, updated education refines the sensitivities of the learners to be constructive and productive in their approaches to bring desired development for themselves and for the society at large. Fast changing scenario on expected to lines and also on unexpected lines, both demand multifaceted preparedness to meet the challenges of life, likely to emerge. The present covid-19 situation has forced people globally to be locked down to fight against fatal corona virus. Under the situation researches and education processes one unique features such as: online mode of teaching- learning, development of e-content & e-resources, digital pedagogy, curricular flexibility, alternate system of evaluation and examinations, teachers knowledge base and preparedness and students achievement etc. all these have put forwards new areas of study. The comprehensive volume II of the Research Abstract includes eighty Ph.D. thesis and two hundred P.G. dissertations, covered various areas, including educational psychology, philosophy, sociology, technology, curricular studies, examination, evaluation, discipline-based pedagogies etc. Volume provides a rich knowledge base to readers to find knowledge gap in a particular areas for further research design in a way researcher finds a direction to proceed with a new problem with a sound research plan. Kathak, the Indian classical dance form prevalent in the North, has a long past. The Persian influence, the patronage of the Muslim kings, the flowering of the two main gharanas (schools), the Jaipur and the Lucknow, and the contribution of the Maharaj Brothers, the famous descendants of Kalka-Bindadin, viz.; Acchan Maharaj, Shambhu Maharaj, Lacchu Maharaj and Birju Maharaj, the great gurus of Jaipur like Jailalji and Sunder Prasadji portray Kathak as it has developed in recent times. Whereas the Choreographic attempts by Madame Menaka and later on by Birju Maharaj and Kumudini Lakhia provide a perspective for viewing Kathak in its many-faceted forms. The footwork, the nritta pieces like tode, tukde, parans, the improvisational aspects and the simple graceful gats and gat-nikas, the illusion of miniature paintings coming to life and many other aspects are vividly captured in this most comprehensive and thoroughl;y researched book on Kathak. It has an attractive section on the contemporary practitioners ranging from Birju Maharaj, Sitara Devi, Damayanti Joshi, Kumudini Lakhia, Rohini Bhate, Roshan Kumari, Gopi Krishna, Durgalal to the young exponents who carry forward the tradition in the present times. He is disillusioned with the city life and with his family too. He wants to return to his roots to find some solace in life but he cant abandon his wife and his son. It is not his love for them but his sense of responsibility that compels him to stay back and set things right for them. He regains his financial position but he cannot redeem his family which falls apart. He unsuccessfully tries to fill the void within himself by going to another woman. After he has settled his wife and his son comfortably in life, he leaves for his native place where he finally settles down and finds some contentment in life in his vocation and in Lutia with whom he forms a symbiotic relationship. This is a story of his karma and its retributive justice.

In British India during the 1920s, a brilliant student jumped from graduation directly into research in the subject of his passion, mathematics, rejecting lucrative career options. In the next 20 years with whirlwind speed he made exceptional achievements with his voluminous work in Legendre polynomials and his original work in Albert Einstein’s ‘Unified Field Theory’ at the Edinburgh University using a futuristic approach of ‘fifth dimension.’ His research was characterized not only by its originality and speed, but by the fact that it was done almost single-handedly without the luxury of working in a top tier university such as Harvard or Berkeley. His publications, including a book on ‘Unified Field Theory’ received highly favorable reviews from renowned mathematicians such as Bateman, Erde’lyi and McC of Caltech Pasadena, and Rainich of the University of Michigan. In 1947, at the age of 40, he became one of the top few mathematicians in India and he was in a position to reach greater heights by moving to a better known research institution in India or in the United States. Instead, he followed his second passion, education. With a desire to give back to India, he chose to contribute to higher education, which the newly independent India desperately needed if she was to make rapid progress in science and technology. Innocently unaware of hurdles he would face from the government he struggled through. With sheer drive and creativity he made phenomenal contributions to the colleges of his state. However being a man of research, he was working against his instincts in a politically driven system. Without recognition he fought for his dreams, causing an unseen impact on his health. This brilliant mathematician and devoted educator passed away at an early age of 54 before he was able to reach his goals, as if somebody took away Van Gogh’s paintbrush!

“Medical knowledge is not communicable to the natives of this country.” With these words, James McAdam, Secretary of the Medical Board of Bombay, sounded the death-knell in 1832 of the pioneering medical school set up in Bombay by Governor Mountstuart Elphinstone. Sir Robert Grant, appointed Governor of Bombay in 1834, disagreed, however. He aimed at ‘the general improvement of medical and surgical science and practice among the native practitioners’. With Dr Charles Morehead, he created a medical college superior to those in Calcutta, and Madras. Parsi philanthropist Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy single-handedly donated an entire hospital to complement this college. Graduates from these institutions, trained in scientific medicine of the highest standards, went on to serve their fellow countrymen with distinction. This book narrates how against great odds, Grant Medical College went on to rival medical colleges in Europe and America, and Dr Morehead was invited to help improve medical education at the University of London.
