The text is clear and can be followed by beginners but finer points of identification are included for the benefit of more serious bird watchers. Particularly helpful is the cross-referencing of the text and colour plates. There are more than 600 colour maps to identify where the birds are to be found, which are simple and easy to use with excellent descriptions of status and habitat.

His plans to lead a cavalry troop out west were dashed when to army wanted to demote him and make him a recruiting sergeant. Disillusioned and dismayed he and his famous horse, Ragnar, head to Texas in search of adventure. Along the way he meets Abby, the love of his life, and lifetime partner. Arriving in Texas, they settled on a small ranch. Matt supplemented his income by first becoming a Texas Ranger, and then a US Marshal. With his partner, Virgil Cameron they would become two of the most feared law enforcement officers of Texas. This is a saga of their lives and of their families.

Since the end of World War 2 the primary role of the Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm has been airborne power projection; the ability rapidly to respond to any trouble spot across the globe and to protect the interests of the United Kingdom and its partner nations. The principal tools in that response were the strike aircraft which took the offensive to the aggressor. Although from 2010 to 2020 fixed-wing carrier aviation was not part of the Fleet Air Arm, with the advent of the navy’s two new aircraft carriers, HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales, that capability has been restored. This renewed focus has not only seen the return of flying high performance aircraft from a carrier, but also the regeneration of the necessary skills, and courage, needed to cope with the extremes of weather and the nature of air operations in a very high-risk environment. However the lessons of the past have not been forgotten, and so many of those previous experiences are related within these pages – true stories of the last 76 years from aircrew, maintainers, aircraft handlers and many other supporting staff both men and women. Following on from the success of volume one, this second volume covers every fixed-wing aircraft type flown from carriers in the strike, anti-submarine warfare and the vital airborne early warning roles; from Scimitars to Hunters, Buccaneers to Skyraiders and many more, plus an extensive fleet of land-based aircraft. As with the first volume, involvement in operations such as Suez, the Beira Patrol, the Falklands, Belize, Bosnia and elsewhere is included. Despite the intensity and all-to-frequent tragedy of operations, the esprit de corps, and the ability to find the necessary release through laughter, shine through. Doctoral Thesis / Dissertation from the year 2017 in the subject Theology - Practical Theology, , language: English, abstract: Historically, sustainable healthy church depends on strong leadership platform, this strong pastoral leadership is often lacking in our churches today. Thus, the problems addressed how mentoring opportunities for young pastors are imperative for church leadership and its connection between mentoring and church healthy growth. This project uses quantitative and descriptive methodological approach in order to gain a balanced understanding for sustaining healthy growing of the church in Lagos East Baptist Conference (LEBC) through mentoring of young ministers for healthy church and leadership development. It is a descriptive survey and a cross-sectional study designed for demographic and attitudinal data collection, on the role of mentoring young ministers on healthy growth of the church. This research focused on 78 selected churches in LEBC and addressed the manner in which their unique worldview has shaped their mentoring preferences. It studies the nature of mentoring young pastors and the nature of mentoring platform needed for them to play this vital role in the church. As part of this research, current literature on the Christian mentoring principle and practice were reviewed and related to the growth of the church. It used case study research design and cases chosen represented a traditional and a hybrid approach to mentoring. It evaluated data collected from one-on-one focused interviews according to three hypotheses: a) Most healthy churches have pastors who have godly mentors. b) Mentored pastors are organic factors in healthy sustainability of any church, and c) Pastors who are not mentored after their Seminary and Bible college training with a mentoring relationship where life experiences are mutually shared and processed tend to be detrimental to himself, family and ministry. The research found that mentoring is a hallmark to healthy church growth, and recommend denominational multiple mentoring opportunities like character formation; emotional intelligence; and skills and organizational capabilities development that meet the needs of pastors and proposed for further research on mentoree turning against their mentors.
