Electric drive of cars and machines instead of combustion engines do not solve the conflict between energy and carbon dioxide, more efficient ways are described. The book presents hopeful forms of energy conversion without carbon dioxide such as photovoltaics, wind power and hydropower, with their advantages, but also with their disadvantages. More promissing is the energy generation maintaining climate neutrality: The water cycle nature-electrolysis-machine-nature is compared with the carbon dioxide cycle nature- photosynthesis in plant-machine-nature. The results of this analysis are largely surprising from such perspective.

Life on the northern plains was lonely in the early 20th century. Farmers and ranchers went for weeks without hearing any voices other than those of their families. Then, in 1922, Al Madson, proprietor of a Yankton radio parts shop, made a radio transmitter. He formed a broadcasting company, and on November 25, 1922, WNAX broadcast its first program. People of the northern plains now had a daily visitor. Gurney Seed and Nursery Company owned the station for its first 16 years, adding distinctive innovations to its programming. In its constant commitment to agriculture, the station has influenced the history of the five-state area it covers. Lawrence Welk got his start there. Wynn Speece, known as the Neighbor Lady, still broadcasts daily after starting at WNAX in 1941.

The book describes diverse, climate-friendly fuels from plant residues, algae, used oils, and fats. It discusses "green" hydrogen as a storage or intermediate storage medium. It also describes surprising, unexpected energy scenarios that arise from the interconnection of conventional thermal machines: a jet engine combined with a steam power plant, a tank with a diesel engine as a mobile heating and power plant? The author Professor Cornel Stan studied aerospace engineering. He teaches in many Universities worldwide on energy conversion and application in technical systems, as well as on alternative propulsion systems for automobiles. His research areas include thermodynamic processes, combustion, alternative propulsion, biofuels, energy management. Cornel Stan is the author of numerous books and scientific papers, published in several languages. Professor Stan is Fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE International).

In each of these there are clear environmental benefits to be gained illustrating catalytic combustion as a "cleaner primary combustion process" . The dominant heat transfer processes in each of the applications are different, as are the support systems, flow geometrics and operating conditions.

A critical analysis of issues and approaches to musical performance through masculinity becomes the focal point of this fascinating study. Ranging from the sixties to beyond the twentieth century, The British Pop Dandy considers the construction of the male pop icon through the spectacle of videos, live concerts and films. Why do we derive pleasure from the performing body, and how is entertainment linked to categories of gender and sexuality? The author insists that pop performances can be understood through human characteristics that relate to the particulars of dandyism, camp and glamour, and this he theorizes through the work of Charles Baudelaire. One of the political objectives of the dandy is to liberate himself through a denial of the structures that assume fixed identity.
