This is Shirley Mays' third book. She is a North Carolina real estate broker and an environmental consultant. She has a Research Center at the Cotton Exchange in Wilmington, North Carolina. This book is about a conspiracy to defraud the United States taxpayers perpetrated by individuals employed by the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC) and its successor agency on the matter in question, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The Resolution Trust Corporation was a US government-owned asset management company mandated to liquidate assets of the defunct savings and loan associations ("S&Ls"). Between 1989 and mid-1995, the RTC closed or otherwise resolved 747 Savings & Loans Institutions (known as thrifts) with total assets in the hundreds of billions of dollars. Shirley Mays was certified by the RTC and the FDIC as a minority woman -owned corporation. She became an insider and a whistleblower. Her whistleblowing case filed with the Department of Justice in July of 1996 was covered up by the government with lightening speed. She filed an IRS Whistleblower Case in June of 2009. She and her Congressman are now going after the corporate criminals like the IRS went after Al Capone.. for tax evasion. She has their pseudo-Federal ID numbers. Whereas, there is no statute of limitations when you are able to show that they knew they were committing fraud. The IRS looks at a fraud case entirely differently. It can pursue any case where it can prove the company knew it was cheating, even if the underpayment was 20 years ago.

There exists a wealth of information about the development of the spinal cord in journal articles and monographs, yet this beautifully illustrated work is the first book devoted to this important topic. Because the developing human spinal cord cannot be subjected to experimental manipulations, the knowledge gained from experimental work in animals is applied here to an interpretation of the time course and mechanisms of spinal cord development in man. The book begins with a review of our current understanding of the structure and functions of the spinal cord. Special reference is made to the phylogeny of the vertebrate spinal cord because the authors' interpretation of the development and organization of the human spinal cord is specifically an evolutionary one. Following a detailed experiment-based account of spinal cord development in the rat, the development of the human spinal cord is described, illustrated and interpreted in separate chapters during three epochs: the first trimester (the embryonic period), the second and third trimesters (the fetal period), and the first year of postnatal life. Special attention is paid to such topics as neurons, and the growth and myelination of the ascending and descending fiber tracts of the spinal cord. The book ends with a correlation of the development of motor behavior with different stages in the morphological development of the human spinal cord during the embryonic, fetal, and postnatal periods. The westward migration of nearly half a million Americans in the mid-nineteenth century looms large in U.S. history. Tracing the journeys of black overlanders who traveled the Mormon, California, Oregon, and other trails, Shirley Ann Wilson Moore describes in vivid detail what they left behind, what they encountered along the way, and what they expected to find in their new, western homes. Perched on the cliffs above the Pacific Ocean, Port Orford claims to be the oldest town site on the Oregon coast and the farthest west incorporated community in the continental United States. Incomparable scenery surrounds it, providing work for generations of residents: lumber from trees of the great forests and all manner of seafood harvested from ocean waters. Gold lay in the waters and banks of streams and in the black sands of beaches, attracting the earliest settlers in 1851. Farming came later but proved successful, especially for cattle and sheep farmers and cranberry growers. Residents have survived fire, earthquake, severe storms, and the fluctuations of the mining, timber, and fishing industries. As Oregon developed, county lines changed. The south coast area was part of Jackson County in 1852, then Coos County in 1853. Curry County was formed in 1855, and Port Orford was the first county seat until Oregon statehood in 1859.
