This book is especially important for top management and other stakeholders of small and medium companies (SME or SMB). Small and medium companies are the major contributors to overall employment, the GDP of most countries, and the global economy. Recent cyberattack statistics show that SMEs are always a target for cybercriminals, posing a direct threat to the global economy if they are not protected. To understand the current scenarios in the SME segment, Dr. Shekhar Pawar conducted research to get insights into the current cybersecurity posture of each participant SME as well as the problems faced by businesses in adopting cybersecurity controls. The input from many SMEs working in different domains and from different countries helped Dr. Pawar understand the gaps that are helping cyberattacks to be successful. The top three issues identified during research were a lack of required financial investment, a lack of skilled resources, and not getting visibility into how investment in cybersecurity implementation will contribute to business growth. To address these problems, Dr. Pawar invented a new cybersecurity framework known as Business Domain Specific Least Cybersecurity Controls Implementation (BDSLCCI). It provides a tailored list of cybersecurity controls depending on the business domain of the SME, reducing costs and resources while providing a return on investment for businesses. BDSLCCI is now an AI ML-driven web platform with a few useful tools to assist companies in easily adopting it.
Every team consists of KEY performers, who bring glory, as well as negative VIRUSES, who contribute to the poisonous pollution at the workplace. Just like dry air has ten types of gas components, each with distinctive characteristics, every team has different types of teammates with unique characteristics. Want to identify the Nitrogen (N2), Oxygen (O2), Argon (Ar), Hydrogen (H2), Methane (CH4), Krypton (Kr), Helium (He), Neon (Ne), Xenon (Xe) and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) within your team? Check out the Air Team Theory! The Air Team Theory compares the characteristics of each teammate type to the characteristics of each gas. It shares scenarios, conversations and behavior patterns of different teammate types. This book also shares the best practices and experiences to effectively lead all the ten types of teammates as one team. This book is for you if you are either a team member or a manager or a director or from top management or an entrepreneur or a leader working with any type or size of team. Most of you will see yourself and even your teammates in at least one of the teammate types explained in this book. The book will make you smile and even bring different emotions to your face as you recall bitter and sweet instances that have happened at your office. It provides useful recommendations and proven solutions for any leader to increase the productivity of any team using simple tips and techniques.
Optoelectronics is a rapidly expanding field of research and development. In years to come, it is destined to play a primary role in the growing information industry. The basic philosophy behind the science and technology of optoelectronics is to create and develop photonic devices in which optical photons (light waves) instead of electronic carriers, are manipulated for the conventional task performed by microelectronics. Thanks to the availability of large bandwidth at optical frequencies, the development of cost-effective low-loss low-dispersion silica fibers for optical transmission, and the possibility of ultra-fast two-dimensional processing, the field of present-day microelectronics is moving steadily towards this new technology of optoelectronics and photonics. This volume presents reviews of different areas of optoelectronics written by international experts in the field, covering most of the topics of recent importance. It includes detailed discussions on semiconductor lasers and optical amplifiers; optical fiber transmission; photodetectors; optoelectronic and photonic integrated circuits; light-wave telecommunications; optical signal and image processing; optical computing; nonlinear and integrated optics; space-time Fourier optics; optical metrology and sensing and optical interconnects. All chapters are written in the style of a textbook containing tutorial sections which should be of great use to graduate students. The volume should serve as an excellent book for graduate level course on optoelectronics, modern optical engineering, and optical communications.
This work offers analytical examination of the facts that will shape the India of the future and determine whether India emerges as Asia's new economic tiger, a stabilizing factor in a turbulent region, or becomes inward-looking, militaristic and stagnant.
Nation-states are compelled to function within the parameters of their respective geo-political and geo-strategic environment. The behavior of nations, and the interplay of their strengths and vulnerabilities, particularly, their foreign and military posturing, is predicated on geographic, political and economic factors. Besides, historical imperatives also coalesce in determining the way States shape their policies. Many Asian countries today are threatened by a war that is of a subtle and imperceptible nature. There is also a paradigm shift in the perception of national security, especially with the blurring of the notion of internal and external security. This is reflected in the growing military expenditures of several Asian countries. This volume attempts to examine the critical factors that influence the foreign and defense policies of Asian countries. It provides comprehensive information and analyses of the strengths, needs, aspirations and compulsions that shape their strategic and military outlook..
This book is written with a view to provide readers with a comprehensive guide to the jurisprudence of forest laws in India. The book analyses, discusses and documents, every socially relevant piece of legislation governing forests in India. It traces the history of environmental jurisprudence giving a panoramic view to the existent legislations in India, their coming into being in light of the international developments. The authors discuss the right to environment as a human right, while simultaneously emphasising on the right to nature itself. Forests have assumed a significant position in India’s drive for ecological sustainability. The judges take an active part in the promotion and development of globally recognised concepts of sustainable development, outside government initiatives., a part of Indian environmental conservation framework. Moreover, giving forest sustainability its due importance, the Courts have contributed significantly by discussing the contribution of forests in the developmental process and bringing the issue of sustained use of the forest resource to the fore. Judgments have been delivered 8 highlighting the need for sustained growth practices which compensate for the forest loss and emphasize again and again on the need to conserve and maintain forests. Therefore, the book also embarks upon the judicial pronouncements and their role in exhibiting the rights of forest dwellers via judicial trajectory of these laws
