Florence and her aunt, Isabella Stuart Gardner (the founder of the museum in Boston), discover a dead body next to an illuminated manuscript in John Pierpont Morgan's library. Pressed by Isabella, Florence becomes a detective compelled to find the murderer as she confronts Morgan, the uppercrust of Manhattan society, and the underground.
