It is paradoxical that on the one side, we are in the process of exploring Mars, venturing into 3D organ bioprinting and even in the pandemic year 2020, the world added 8 billionaires in a week making the record total of 3288 billionaires owning wealth of US $14.7 trillion. On the other side, 10% of the world population is still living in extreme poverty conditions and about 9 million people die every year due to hunger and malnutrition, when 1/3rd of the consumable food produced by the world is either lost or wasted. Is it not analogous to a painter who has adorned his house with fabulous paintings but failed to paint the patchy and peeling walls on which the paintings are hanging? Where do we go wrong?
