Truly, The Nun is an extraordinary novel. Remarkably original, it is structurally functional. It begins at just the right place and proceeds with a firm grip on the reader's mind and imagination. The poetry of Sia's journal in no way interferes with the flow of the narrative, rather it enriches it. Sia, whose name carries a reference to the Greek wanderer and the sea, is a remarkable creation. Also extraordinary is your representation of the physical world as both beautiful and threatening, so forcefully that the reader experiences both the beauty and the gratification which the outer world offers and at the same time the stress and lurking danger. The prose has a poetic quality, reinforced by the poetry in Sia's journal. I was deeply moved by the life of Odyssia." --Jack Wheatcroft, Author, Professor Emeritus and founder of the Poetry Center at Bucknell, Juror for Pulitzer Prize for Poetry "I am awed by the splendor of the writing." --Jack Salamanca, Author, Lilith, Embarkation, Southern Light, Proffessor Emeritus University of Maryland "What stands out above all is the purity and splendor of the writing. Sanchez's works are rare delicacies. Her writing style is exquisite. Her flawless prose flows, sometimes beautiful, sometimes disturbing, but always memorable. Highly recommended for the serious reader." --Mayra Calvani, Author, Embraced by Shadows ---------- The Nun describes two incarnations of the character, Sia (short for Odyssia). The first takes place during the tenth century in Europe, where Sia lives as a nun in a remote convent before becoming a hermitess in the woods with a passion and talent for wood and stone carving. The second takes place during the twentieth century in New York and West Virginia, where Sia is a poet in the city before forming a commune with women she meets at one of her readings. As life events distract the other women, Sia finds herself once again alone and vulnerable. The earth itself is a character in this novel as well as its inspiration. There are elements of magical realism as the dream world and the "real" world interface. This book will appeal to readers interested in nature, in magical realist fiction, in women's spirituality, in poetry and in medieval history.

Psychodermatology is a relatively new field in evolution and thus, there is a comparative paucity of information in general. However, when it comes to children and adolescents there is a complete vacuum of information as no other book has aimed to specifically address the psychodermatological issues facing this particular population. For assessment, diagnosis, comprehensive treatment of children with psychodermatologic conditions and establishing a relationship between skin and psyche, there is a lack of clear and relevant clinical information about these complex disorders. The complexity of these disorders is related to lack of understanding in genetic, embryonic, physiologic, neuroimmunologic, neurocutaneous, stress-related neuromodulation, and psychosomatic interconnections. This book presents a clinically relevant approach to the management of psychodermatologic issues encountered in normal practice. Various classifications and major categories that are discussed include psychophysiologic disorders, psychiatric conditions with dermatologic manifestations, dermatologic disorders predisposing to psychiatric disorders, systemic diseases with psychodermatological manifestations, and special issues in management of psychocutaneous disorders in children and adolescents.

Damn her. His body was still on fire. Damn her, why had she responded that way? So honestly. With no coyness. No affectation. Her mouth had been so receptive. Her kisses so generous. Her breasts so soft... In a one room cabin they find shelter. . .but, as winter closes in, they have no protection against the sexual attraction that becomes the real test of their fortitude. Within those four rough walls, Rusty discovers that Cooper’s brusqueness arises from immeasurable heartache, and, to Cooper’s dismay, his credo of No romance, no love, no thanks becomes his desperate chant to ward against Rusty’s allure.

This book is titled Sandy Sez to follow up on my first paid writing gig. While in high school, Mr. Curtis Sterling, editor, owner, and publisher of the Brownfield News, paid me twenty-five cents an inch for what was intended to be a gossip column from the high school. It was not until my thirtieth high school reunion that I discovered I had had no idea what was really going on in my high school because I was too busy making us sound like Archie, Veronica, Betty, and Jughead. My writing skills improved after I learned to tell the truth.

With forty-four New York Times bestselling novels to her credit, Sandra Brown is one of romance's best-loved authors. She has been hailed by Rendezvous magazine as an author whose "larger than life heroes and heroines make you believe all the warm, wonderful, wild things in life." Sexy, funny, and wonderfully romantic, here is the unforgettably sensuous story of a woman too smart to fall in love -- and the man determined to prove her wrong. Thursday's Child Allison Leamon knew that pretending to be her identical twin sister was a bad idea. For although the two redheads looked exactly alike, they couldn't be more different. How could a no-nonsense scientist like Allison possibly fool anyone into thinking that she was the bubbly, vivacious Annie? Trading her sensible shoes for strappy sandals, her eyeglasses for contacts, and her lab smock for a chiffon dress, Allison was determined to try her best. Her first challenge was a dinner date with Annie's fiancé, Davis. But what Allison didn't expect was the presence of Davis's best friend. Allison was far too logical to believe in love at first sight, but there was nothing logical about the way she was responding to Spencer Raft. The dark-haired, blue-eyed mystery man had an assurance that Allison found positively maddening. And by the end of the evening, she couldn't help feeling that Spencer had been attracted to a carefully constructed illusion. She was certain that the handsome adventurer wouldn't give her a second look if he knew her as she really was. But Spencer Raft was a man of many talents -- and seeing below the surface of things was one of them. He sensed the flesh-and-blood woman beneath the elaborate charade, and after years of wandering the world in search of excitement, he knew he had finally found what he had been looking for. But first this incurable romantic had to convince an intractable skeptic that there was more to love than what she could study in a laboratory. And what better way than to propose a passionate experiment of his own? On board his yacht, Spencer and Allison would fulfill their wildest fantasies and deepest desires; but when their blissful idyll was over, would it all prove to be no more than a pleasant interlude -- or the real thing?
