The author bravely shares that she is a victim of sexual abuse, making a very big sacrifice in order to bless the reader with the message of healing. The straightforward opening will resonate with anyone who has experienced deep pain and wants to be free. The author has been so direct with her own experience that the reader is immediately aware that the content comes from a person who understands firsthand what he or she is suffering. The level of validity and credibility could not be higher. The author credits God for every phase of healing and her strengthened abilities in dealing with the past. While aptly acknowledging the readers experiences and feelings as victims, the author does not leave them unaccountable in the holy standard of practicing forgiveness. This healthy balance sets the book apart from most worldly approaches to therapy and healing. The concepts regarding pain in this book are very original and imperative in a book with this subject matter. It demonstrates the author has gained much wisdom, which is a sign that validates her growth. To God be the glory. Great things He has done!

Chimpanzees, including bonobos and common chimpanzees, are our closest living relatives. However, surprisingly, the information about the soft tissues of bonobos is very scarce, making it difficult to discuss and understand human evolution. This book, which is the first photographic and descriptive musculoskeletal atlas of bonobos (Pan paniscus), adopts the same format as the photographic atlases of other apes previously published by the same authors. These books are part of a series of monographs that will set out the comparative and phylogenetic context of the gross anatomy and evolutionary history of the soft tissue morphology of modern humans and their closest relatives. The present atlas, which includes detailed high quality photographs of the musculoskeletal structures from most anatomical regions of the body as well as textual information about the attachments, innervation, function and weight of the respective muscles, is based on dissections of seven bonobos, including adults, adolescents, infants and fetuses, and males and females, and on an extensive review of the literature for comparisons with common chimpanzees. It therefore provides an updated review of the anatomical variations within chimpanzees as well as an extensive list of synonyms used in the literature to designate the structures covered here. Moreover, contrary to the previous photographic atlases of apes, it also provides details on neurovascular structures such as the brachial and lumbrosacral plexuses. The book will therefore be of interest to students, teachers and researchers focusing on primatology, comparative anatomy, functional morphology, zoology, and physical anthropology and to medical students, doctors and researchers who are curious about the origin, evolution, homology and variations of the musculoskeletal and neurovascular structures of modern humans.

Seminar paper from the year 2004 in the subject Romance Languages - Spanish Studies, grade: 1,3 (A), Kingston University London (Spanish Institute), course: Spanish Cinema, language: English, abstract: Introduction Almodovar's first three films Pepi, Luci, Bom y otras chicas del montón (1980), Laberinto de Pasiones (1982) and Entre Tinieblas (1983) can be seen as a breaking of all the taboos that were forbidden under Franco's regime: there is drug use, "abnormal" sexuality, crude language, adultery, religious blasphemy. The films clearly mirror the new freedoms enjoyed by a generation of film-makers belonging to Spain's "la movida" movement of the late 1970's and early 1980's. Born in 1951, Almodovar mainly grew up in the rural Extremadura, but left for Madrid at the age of sixteen. He originally wanted to attend the national film school, but due to the closure of the school by the Dictator Franco′s repressive government he was unable to go. He instead took a job at a telephone company to make the money to buy himself a Super-8 camera. Almodovar began filming short films in the early 1970s, and quickly became associated with 'la movida'. This essay will be evaluating Almodovar's role as a post-modern director, including a brief demonstration of the development of the post-modern culture after Franco's death. The essay is especially interested in the juxtaposition of homo- and heterosexuality in Almodovar's films and will evaluate the different ways in which Almodovar presents homosexuality. It will also have a close look at the mediums Almodovar uses to make his audience take his absurd film worlds for granted, and accept the happenings and characters as 'normal'.
