Blessings from the Darkness complied by Kelly J Koch and published by Nicholas Grabowsky with Black Bed Sheet Books and a dedication by G.L. Lentz. For those of you who have never experienced a family illness that completely wipes the family out emotionally and mentally as well as monetarily then you have no idea what it can do to a family. Blessings from the Darkness the brain child of G.L. Lentz for a family that is going through that very thing is so worth every penny spent on it. The thirty plus authors who have given up their stake in the book have written stories, poems and flash fiction that will wrench your very heart out of your chest, put tears in your eyes and make you look at life in ways you never have before. While the book is titled Blessings from the Darkness- it is not all horror stories. There are stories of everyday experiences, thoughts, wishes (some that do not turn out so well) and emotions. "When Angels Fall" will have you weeping as you turn each page and read each line, "The Third Wish" will make one think twice before wanting to deal with a Genie, "Death of a Parent" will cause you to weep. These are just a few of the wonderful writings by up and coming authors and writers who have never been published before- but you need to keep on your radar. This is a book that you will want to add to your library and to read over and over again.

I’m enrolled as a common girl in this college full of rich royals—it’s logical they would try to get on my nerves. One day, they’ll succeed in getting a rise out of me. They won’t like the result. I’ve spent the last few years hiding who—what—I am, but Rovan won’t stop looking, trying to figure out what I’m hiding behind the mask. When he sees the real me, I expect him to run screaming. But underneath his smiles, the wicked prince is something just as terrifying as me. We might just make a half decent team. If we don’t kill each other first.
This is the first reprinting since the eighteenth century--and the first scholarly edition--of Tobias Smollett’s translation of The Devil upon Crutches. First published in France in 1707 as Le Diable boiteux, Alain René Le Sage’s novel relates the picaresque wanderings of Asmodeus, a refined, likable but decrepit devil, and Zambullo, his newfound mortal companion. After Zambullo releases Asmodeus from a bottle, the two embark on a flight above the rooftops of Madrid. Peeking into houses, prisons, palaces, and even tombs, Zambullo witnesses one incident of treachery and self-delusion after another. Smollett’s superior wit and sense of irony suited him well as translator for this novel, with its juxtaposition of realism with romance, satire with sentiment, and sexual intrigue with moral admonition. This authoritative textual edition is based on the 1759 second edition of Smollett’s translation. The extensive introduction covers such topics as the original French edition; the composition, printing, and reception of Smollett’s The Devil upon Crutches; and Smollett’s career as a translator. Also included are a complete textual apparatus and a guide to the now-exotic pharmaceuticals and remedies one encounters in the novel.
Poestenkill, formed from the northern half of the township of Sand Lake, was incorporated in 1848 and is the youngest town in Rensselaer County. The name Poestenkill comes from the Dutch and means foaming creek. The Poestenkill Creek, which runs westerly and empties into the Hudson River, was the center of water-powered industry in the towns early years. When early settlers began arriving and developing the land, Poestenkill was divided into the four hamlets: Poestenkill, East Poestenkill, Ives Corners, and Barberville. Through vintage photographs, Poestenkill provides a glimpse of the towns rich history and draws generations eager to experience the beauty of Poestenkill and the charm of its people.
There are relatively high rates of complications in the fetal and neonatal periods (1 in 33 fetuses born with birth defects and 1 in 10 preterm births in the US). With advances in maternal-fetal care and growing services and life-extending medical innovations in the neonatal period, more families are presenting to Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) and often for longer lengths of time. The growing recognition of mental health needs of families and providers in fetal care centers, NICUs, and neonatal follow-up programs has led to a quickly increasing presence of behavioral health providers in these settings. Behavioral Health Services with High-Risk Infants & Families is a practical guide for mental health clinicians working in fetal care, NICU, and neonatal follow-up care. The book provides a broad overview of common medical conditions in fetal and NICU settings (e.g., congenital anomalies, premature birth, hypoxic injury in the perinatal period), prevalence, and symptoms of behavioral health challenges, specific considerations for assessment and intervention, and cross-cutting issues to assist the clinician with optimizing behavioral health care integration with mothers, partners, babies, and families. Additionally, information about the provision of psychosocial support and education to staff is also included. The text represents a comprehensive, practical resource for behavioral health clinicians working with pregnant women, partners, infants, families, and providers in perinatal and neonatal intensive care settings. The book features de-identified case examples, trauma-informed care prompts/scripts, specific questions for assessment and intakes, key medical terms, resource guides, and reference lists.

Visible evidence of coastal culture. The Military Era and the Plantation Era—its story and heroes... Oglethorpe—the soldiers of Bloody Marsh—faithful Neptune... Along the arc of the Georgia coast there is a chain of sea islands. Of these, Ossabaw, Saint Catherine’s, Sapelo, Saint Simons, Sea Island, Jekyll, and Cumberland are best known as the Golden Isles.
