Materi dan tugas-tugas pembelajaran dalam buku ini diorganisasikan ke dalam dua siklus pembelajaran, yaitu siklus lisan dan siklus tulis. Sementara siklus lisan menekankan pengembangan keterampilan menyimak dan berbicara, siklus tulis mengembangkan keterampilan membaca dan menulis. Sesuai dengan prinsip keterpaduan dalam pembelajaran bahasa, kedua siklus tersebut mengembangkan keempat keterampilan berbahasa secara terintegrasi. Selain itu, untuk keperluan pengayaan dan evaluasi, setiap chapter dilengkapi dengan tugas terstruktur berupa evaluasi. Materi dan kegiatan pembelajaran dalam buku ini lebih dikembangkan untuk mendorong terjadinya learning pada diri siswa. Kegiatan-kegiatan belajar dikembangkan untuk menjadikan siswa secara individu, berpasangan, dan kelompok kecil secara aktif belajar bahasa Inggris melalui kegiatan memahami dan menggunakan bahasa Inggris untuk mengekspresikan gagasan dan perasaan secara alami. Guru lebih bertindak sebagai fasilitator, pemberi feedback, dan pendorong siswa agar berani mengekspresikan dirinya dengan tidak mengabaikan pentingnya akurasi berbahasa. Dengan kegiatan-kegiatan pembelajaran dan peran guru yang demikian, siswa terbimbing dan memperoleh fasilitasi dalam berlatih mengekspresikan dirinya sehingga secara bertahap akhirnya mampu berkomunikasi dengan baik.

Memories of early childhood awakened, begun at the formative years of the early 1940s. Bringing to life those indentured from India having volunteered for a 'promised better life' after slavery. Any lifestyle was better than they had in those villages in India. Working the sugarcane plantation some thrived. Growing up among a few remaining indentured whose anecdotes, told in songs of memories lingering of their youths in their former homeland. We returned to the UK after 18 years in my place of birth, lured by memories of youth. As a fly on the wall, I listened and saw cultural differences working together in Trinidad. The conundrum of the DEWALI celebration; The ailing challenger; Eastern culture meets Christian Easter celebration in the west; and the KALI worshiper explains their philosophy are few of the anecdotes. And personal observations of the interplay of science philosophy and religion in humanity.

Using carbon-neutral materials like crimson mud or powdered snail shells can reduce cement's carbon dioxide emissions by half. As an adaptable alternative to traditional concrete, HVFA concrete has many uses. Long-lasting and useful in Plain Cement Concrete (PCC) projects, fly ash also enhances concrete's workability. The positive effects of fly ash on the environment, such as lower carbon dioxide emissions, are not new. Adding fly ash to concrete increases its strength and segregation, which reduces its price and makes it simpler to pump.

In the 1930s, physics was in a crisis. There appeared to be no way to reconcile the new theory of quantum mechanics with Einstein's theory of relativity. Several approaches had been tried and had failed. In the post-World War II period, four eminent physicists rose to the challenge and developed a calculable version of quantum electrodynamics (QED), probably the most successful theory in physics. This formulation of QED was pioneered by Freeman Dyson, Richard Feynman, Julian Schwinger, and Sin-Itiro Tomonaga, three of whom won the Nobel Prize for their work. In this book, physicist and historian Silvan Schweber tells the story of these four physicists, blending discussions of their scientific work with fascinating biographical sketches. Setting the achievements of these four men in context, Schweber begins with an account of the early work done by physicists such as Dirac and Jordan, and describes the gathering of eminent theorists at Shelter Island in 1947, the meeting that heralded the new era of QED. The rest of his narrative comprises individual biographies of the four physicists, discussions of their major contributions, and the story of the scientific community in which they worked. Throughout, Schweber draws on his technical expertise to offer a lively and lucid explanation of how this theory was finally established as the appropriate way to describe the atomic and subatomic realms.
