It all started when I discovered a statement a father made concerning his son who caused harm to many others. He said, "I wish I did not have this child," meaning his son. I was troubled and began to look through the Bible to see what the creator says about children. I found out that He calls children a blessing, and as you know, everybody likes a blessing, so why would a father make such a statement? And why would a blessing become a murderer when Psalm 145:17 mentions that all God did was good? The spirit of God lifted me to this Bible verse: "When men slept the enemy came and planted tares among the wheat" (Matthew 13:25). John 10:10 also declares the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. So as a role of parenthood, I want parents to come to an awareness of the activities of the devil concerning our children and how we can defeat him through prayer using the word of God. In Isaiah 65:23, the Bible says you will never labor in vain or have children for trouble. So, having this great promise from God and with the help of Psalm 8:2, I want parents to use prayer or open their mouth as Psalm 8:2 says to destroy the works of the avenger. Let me take this opportunity to thank God who inspired me to write this, waking up in the middle of the night, giving me scriptures, and helping put things together. Without Him, we can do nothing. Let me not forget my senior pastor, Phillip Amofah, who became my consultant. He was always there to help answer all my questions. May God bless Michael and Sarah Oduro, my two kids, who contributed greatly in searching, reading, and typing scriptures. May God richly bless them.

They provide a review and critical discussion of the existing knowledge base surrounding early childhood deaf education and examine traditional and contemporary perspectives on childhood deafness and caregiving that are meaningful to the African early childhood deaf education landscape. The book draws on the knowledge and understanding developed through a collaborative UK-Ghana research project that examined the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) of young deaf children in Ghana. Examples from this project bring to life the issues surrounding caregiving, childhood deafness and early support in sub-Saharan Africa and advances voices from this context. As a co-authored text and collaboration between UK and Ghana researchers the work brings a new and context sensitive contribution to the examination of early education programming for young deaf children, addresses gaps in the global ECCE research, and shifts the traditional flow of knowledge to open the potential of south-north illumination and learning.

Somite development is a unique and important topic; unique because somitic mesoderm is the first tissue to become segmented, important because the somites - once established - exert a profound influence on other seg mental structures which form later. Somite development is of interest at a number of levels. In one aspect, demarcation of a specific number of somites and size regulation, it is a particularly intriguing example of embryonic pattern formation, 'especially in vew of its possible relation to homoeobox-controlled segmentation in insects. At another level, somite development has long been studied by compara tive anatomists, but only recently has new light been thrown on such sub jects as segmentation of the head, proposed in the 18th century by Goethe and now a live issue for developmental biologists. Somit es are simple when they first appear, but very complex structures arise from them. These include the vertebrae and the axial and other muscles and consequently there is a wealth of morphogenetic problems to be explored. Sometimes their morphogenesis is disturbed, by genetic or environ mental factors, and there are many clinical conditions which arise as a result.
