Harnessing the power of symbols for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing • Explains how to make symbols directly on areas of pain for quick relief, on bandages to speed healing, and on acupressure points for energy and emotional work • Explores the use of symbols to reduce scar tissue, counteract electromagnetic pollution, balance the chakras, and cleanse toxins from the body • Details how to transfer the energy of a symbol to water, food, jewelry, or stones for long-term treatment and prevention Geometric symbols and signs have been drawn on the body to enhance strength and courage and stimulate the body’s powers of self-healing since prehistoric times--the most ancient evidence being the 5,000-year-old iceman “Ötzi,” found in the Alps in 1991, who had symbols tattooed over his arthritic joints. Found in indigenous societies around the globe, symbols on the body--whether drawn, painted, or tattooed--act as energy antennae, triggering healing impulses in the energy body and meridian system. Exploring several simple methods to work with symbols for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing, Petra Neumayer and Roswitha Stark illustrate the key symbols used in this practice and reveal how to select the proper symbol or symbols for your condition. They explain how to use these signs directly on areas of pain and injury--from mosquito bites to eczema--for quick relief, on bandages to speed healing, and on acupressure points and meridians to treat more complex conditions. They explore the use of symbols to reduce scar tissue, counteract electromagnetic pollution, balance the chakras, and cleanse toxins from the body. The authors explain how, like homeopathic remedies, symbols transfer information through energetic vibration and morphic fields—the resonance between all living things, past and present, discovered by Cambridge biologist Rupert Sheldrake. They detail how to transfer the energy of a symbol to water, food, jewelry, or stones for long-term treatment and prevention. They also show how to heal animals and plants with symbols. Bringing together traditional Chinese medicine, quantum physics, dowsing, and homeopathy, this new yet ancient practice harnesses the power of symbols to initiate healing at the very foundation of our energetic being.

Dev and Dora, an Indo-German journalist couple residing in India, face severe challenges, when weird happenings threaten to throw their personal as well as professional lives out of gear. She suspects that their helper, Amit, is involved in child trafficking. He does not even want to talk about this specific ‘nonsense’, but, in his role as TV anchor, is ever ready to highlight the plight of children in general. His career soars. Yet his involvement in a shocking incident makes him fear to lose his job. His boss, however, assures him that scandals are good for business. They titillate the palate, ignite fierce debates and, at times, even provoke action. “Shout your way to glory. It’s the ratings that count,” he points out. While both their careers take off dramatically – Dora has become a feisty investor’s publicist - , jealousy gnaws at their happiness and turns their bedroom from love nest into a den of power games. Their at times playful, at times painful actions come to a sudden halt when Dev’s lingering fears prove to be true that invisible hands have pulled strings to destroy him and much, much more. While he tortures himself figuring out who might be the might behind the mayhem, he has a dream… The novel, set in the India of today with his manifold issues ranging from child labour, the role of the media to marital rape etc., is written in a style (witty, suspenseful, sexy, satirical) that provides not only insights but entertainment. It is thus very much in tune with the times.

Sophie Taeuber-Arp was a quiet innovator whose fame has too often been yoked to that of her husband, Jean Arp. Over time, however, she has slowly come to be seen as one of the foremost abstract artists and designers of the twentieth century. The Swiss-born Taeuber-Arp had a front row seat to the first wave of Dadaism and was, along with Mondrian and Malevich, a pioneer of Constructivism. Her singular artwork incorporated painting, sculpture, dance, fiber arts, and architecture, as hers was one of the first oeuvres to successfully bridge the divide between fine and functional art. Now Roswitha Mair has brought us the first biography of this unique polymath, illuminating not just Tauber-Arp’s own life and work, but also the various milieux and movements in which she traveled. No fan of the Dadaists and their legacy will want to miss this first English-language translation.
OVERLAND-BIKING AUSTRALIA auf roter Erde is written in German and English. Das Buch ist bebildert. It has a lot of pictures. Es ist nicht weit bis New South Wales (= NSW), the Premier State or Towards 2000. Hauptstadt ist Sydney. Bekannt sind die Opera und der Mt. Kosciusko, der höchste Gipfel Australiens. Innerhalb von NSW liegt Canberra, eine Reißbrettstatt, die zugleich ACT = Australian Capital Territory ist. Weiter geht es nach Victoria (= VIC), dafür stehen drei Bezeichnungen: Garden State, On the Move, the Education State.
