If this occurs before you turn your life over to Jesus Christ and yield to his revealed truth and prophecy, then your eternity will have been decided by your own choice.

The Yount Woolen Mill was founded during the pioneer period by immigrants from Germany who employed workers from the surrounding area and from Great Britain who were seeking to start a life with their families. For three generations the mill prospered until it and its workers were faced with changing global trade and aging technology that could not keep pace with the rest of the world. Deindustrialization compelled some residents to use education to adapt, while others held on to their traditional skills and were forced to relocate. Educators in the county seat offered Yountsville the opportunity to change to an education-based economy. Both the educators and the tradesmen associated with the mill believed their chosen paths gave children the best opportunities for the future. Present-day communities working through industrialization and deindustrialization still push for educational reform to improve the lives of their children. In the Midwest, many stories exist about German immigrants working in urban areas, but there are few stories of immigrants as capitalists in rural areas. The story of the Yount family is one of an immigrant family who built an industry with talent, labor, and advantage. Unfortunately, deindustrialization, dislocation, adaptation, and reuse were familiar problems in the Midwest. Archeologists, scholars, and students of state and local history and the Midwest will find much of interest in this book.

In the Book of Habakkuk, God answers a question asked of by the prophet by saying the following, "And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it" (Habakkuk 2:2). The reason that so many people, both believers and nonbelievers, are in the conditions they are in is because they have allowed themselves to "lose" the vision, especially the vision of our coming of the Lord Jesus. They have all owed themselves to be "blinded" by the "things" of this world. The apostle Paul stated it like this: "In whom the God of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine until them . . ." (2 Corinthians 4:4) We live in a society that is full of hate, violence, destruction, wars, and rumors of wars, discrimination, prejudice, racism, poverty, atheism, no reverence for God for God at all, no fear of God Almighty. The Bible lets us know: "The fool hath said in his heart; There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good" (Psalm 14:1). The reason so many people, both believers and nonbelievers, have "lost the vision" is because they are not "seeking the after God," "they are not turning from their wicked ways." This is the reason District Elder Ronald Gene Oliver put together this book, My Thoughts, not only to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, but to let people who have feelings of "no hope" that "God is still alive" and that "he is still on the throne and in control" regardless of all the negativity that exists in the world. Yet it has a unified message and a clear theme--redemption through sacrifice, and most especially redemption through the sacrifice of the Christ, the Messiah, the Promised One from God. This coherence across time and space is the product of a single, unseen author--the Holy Spirit. Using the personality and style of each of the different sacred penmen, the Spirit so guided their work as to produce documents that expressed the divine mind precisely. Thus the Scripture, in the original autographs, was entirely without error in everything to which it spoke whether pertaining to matters of faith or fact--right down to the very words. However, this amazing book--God's message to the human race--remains rather mysterious and even inaccessible to many Christians. I hope that these summaries will help interested students of the Bible acquire a clearer and more comprehensive understanding of the sixty-six canonical books of sacred Scripture, making their own Bible study more productive and meaningful.

Before retirement many of these people had careers that they would like to keep private. They just want to enjoy life with no pressure or problems. When an opportunity presents itself to help the less fortunate they get on board.
