The significant growth of the commercial production of polymer latexes during the past decade has been due to a number of factors. First, water-based systems, especially paints and coatings, avoid many of the environ mental problems associated with the solvent-based systems. Second, polymer colloid products can be custom designed to meet a wide range of application requirements. Third, large scale emulsion polymeri zation proceeds smoothly and controllably with a wide range of monomers to produce stable polymer colloids of high molecular weight Polymer colloids are also important in functional scientific studies This importance arises from the spherical shape of the particles, range of attainable particle diameters and the uniformity of their size distribution, and the possibility of controlling and character izing the particle surface. Polymer colloids are useful as size standards in microscopy and in instrument calibration, and as carriers in antibody-enzyme diagnosti, tests. As suspensions of uniform spherical particles, they are idea. experimental systems to test the series of colloidal phenomena as stability and coagulation, electric kinetic or rheological proper ties, and light scattering. In recent years, polymer colloids have received attention as models for many-body molecular phenomena, including the order-disorder transitions and the mechanics of crystalline phases.

He opts for the inspirational life of the nomadic entrepreneur, to use his IQ, while helping people. He heads an art/humanities agency that appears to use his title to claim funding, but not his skills. Using his Education "Minor" for designing courses for a local college, the Dean disapproves the proposal. Work as a consultant to NY City and California design firms end due to late commission payments. His furniture design enthralls, but he cannot compete with market prices. All the United States except three experience his visits as "stock" photographer, providing metaphorical imagery for commercial use. Most income over time came from historical restoration contracting, coordinating with photography, while "on the road," living in the back of his van, on state campgrounds, and in porous boat houses. Identical living quarters applied when he opened his own art gallery, but during recession, and twelve artists suffer. Burt avoids conflicts with brown bears, pumas, cougars, and wild owls while in nature, plus an escaped convict. Cautioned by neighbors, he and friends, dressed as Santa/elves, stop singing on an August 8th. This list of mistakes continue, but just in time a famous author asks Burt to restore his mansion for a year, several stock agencies renewed their photography contract, his art work flourishes, and Burt finally senses that all his risk, danger and debt had a purpose. Challenging traditional theories of industrialization and revolution, Aminzade innovatively uses narratives to provide a historically grounded analysis of the failed municipal revolutions of 1871 and the triumph of liberal-democratic institutions in France. In each of these cities, distinctive patterns of capitalist industrialization and class restructuring intersected with shifting political opportunities at the national level to produce local republican parties with different ideologies, strategies, and alliances. Focusing on changing relations between republican parties and male workers, whose identities and economic standing were in transition, Aminzade examines struggles within local parties among liberal, radical, and socialist republicans. The outcome of these struggles, he argues, shaped the willingness of workers to embrace the ballot box or take to the barricades.
