I’m Ron Zuccaro, a.k.a. Ron Martinelli, and this is my story. The challenging times of my life. The Vietnam War and how a truck ran out of control and ran me through the brick wall of a cleaners and how surgeons told me I wouldn’t walk again. How I opened a gambling casino to help with my financial hardships and how I wrestled as a professional all over the country before my accident and made a comeback, against all odds, to win the championship, and how I dealt with all the devastation and obstacles along the way. I could not have come through it without my Father in Heaven. He never left me. I’m reminded of the poem “Footsteps in the Sand,” and Jesus said, “When you only saw one set of footprints, that’s when I carried you.” Well, He carried me a lot. This book is about hope, perseverance, love, loyalty, discipline, and training. All these things taught to me by my mother, my father, the USMC in boot camp, the US Army, the US Navy, and my faith in Jesus Christ, my Savior. I always turn to Him and believe in and talk to Him. I pray daily and talk to Him like I would talk to my earthly father. I thank God every day that He chose me to be born, the son of that lovely lady, my mother, the saint. Christ brought me back from a violent and vicious war. He brought peace to my heart and soul. He gave a wonderful family, three sons, six grandsons, two granddaughters, four great-grandsons, and four great-granddaughters. My Lord brought me through quadruple bypass surgery, prostate cancer twice, and more health issues brought on by Agent Orange. He guided me through the war, the devastating sights of the horror of war, and the death of so many friends. I will always believe that we won the Vietnam War on the battlefield. They lost one and a half million VC and North Vietnamese; we lost fifty-eight thousand, and don’t get me wrong—one American is too many. We would have lost far less if Washington, DC, had not played politics, allowing Charlie sanctuary, and continued bombing Haiphong Harbor, North Hanoi, and the Ho Chi Minh trail. No one defeated us in combat. Nobody, and I emphasize nobody. The honor, courage, and valor of the American military shone brightly. I will defend our troops until God takes my last breath. Let no one taint the actions or honor of my brave buddies. This book is a tribute to all the brave vets and the Living God, Jesus Christ.
It's been four years since the tragic in-the-line-of-duty murder of his police sergeant wife, Helen, during an officer-involved shooting. Retired Texas Ranger Wade Justus and his Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Special Agent son, Hunter, now decompress after solving the serial killings of the Sleeping Beauty Killer in Nashville, bringing that killer to justice. The law enforcement duo travel to Florence, Italy, on vacation where Hunter plans to introduce his father to his love interest, the beautiful and brilliant Carabinieri investigator Lida Aldobrandini. However, the last thing that Wade and Hunter expect is to be caught up in the violence, intrigue, and danger of an ISIS terrorist plot to assassinate Italy's President and slaughter thousands of Italians. A cowboy-hat-and-boots-wearing Texas Ranger would normally appear to be like a fish out of water in Italy, but not this Ranger. Now follow Wade, Hunter, and Lida through the streets of Florence and the wine region of Tuscany as they track down one of the most ruthless, radical ISIS killers in the world, Jamal the Jackal, in this newest installment of the Wade Justus Texas Ranger series. Forensic criminologist and retired police detective Ron Martinelli, best-selling author of Absolute Justus, now brings you Justus for All.
Retired and revered Texas Ranger Wade Justus thinks that he has finally moved on from a respected career in active law enforcement. The first wave of the Millennial Generation—born between 1980 and 2001—is entering the work force, and employers are facing some of the biggest management challenges they’ve ever encountered. They are trying to integrate the most demanding and most coddled generation in history into a workplace shaped by the driven baby-boom generation. Like them or not, the millennials are America future work force. They are actually a larger group than the boomers—92 million vs. 78 million. The millennials are truly trophy kids, the pride and joy of their parents who remain closely connected even as their children head off to college and enter the work force. Millennials are a complex generation, with some conflicting characteristics. Although they’re hard working and achievement oriented, most millennials don’t excel at leadership and independent problem solving. They want the freedom and flexibility of a virtual office, but they also want rules and responsibilities to be spelled out explicitly. “It’s all about me,” might seem to be the mantra of this demanding bunch of young people, yet they also tend to be very civic-minded and philanthropic. This book will let readers meet the millennials and learn how this remarkable generation promises to stir up the workplace and perhaps the world. It provides a rich portrait of the millennials, told through the eyes of millennials themselves and from the perspectives of their parents, educators, psychologists, recruiters, and corporate managers. Clearly, the millennials represent a new breed of student, worker, and global citizen, and this book explores in depth their most salient attributes, particularly as they are playing out in the workplace. It also describes how companies are changing tactics to recruit millennials in the Internet age and looks at some of this generation’s dream jobs.

Classic horror films such as Dracula, Frankenstein and The Picture of Dorian Gray are based on famous novels. Less well known--even to avid horror fans--are the many other memorable films based on literary works. Beginning in the silent era and continuing to the present, numerous horror films found their inspiration in novels, novellas, short stories and poems, though many of these written works are long forgotten. This book examines 43 works of literature--from the famous to the obscure--that provided the basis for 62 horror films. Both the written works and the films are analyzed critically, with an emphasis on the symbiosis between the two. Background on the authors and their writings is provided.

Introducing the principles, practice and applications of mass spectrometric techniques in the study of natural substances in foods, this book conveys the depth and breadth of modern mass spectrometry in relation to food analysis. It covers traditional techniques such as electron and chemical ionisation and newer soft ionisation techniques such as matrix-assisted laser desorption ionisation and electrospray. All of these techniques are especially relevant in food quality and safety studies and in biopolymer analysis. The ability to analyse biopolymers by mass spectrometry is having a major impact on the study of food structure components, food proteins, food pathogens and food components produced from genetically modified organisms. The principles and practice of mass spectrometry are covered in the early chapters and are followed by applications in flavour analysis and the determination of non-nutrient, biologically-active, natural substances in foods. The analysis and metabolic studies of amino acids, peptides, proteins, lipids, sugars, carbohydrates and vitamins is also discussed, with separate chapters on mineral and micronutrient metabolism and techniques of pyrolysis mass spectrometry. Mass Spectrometry of Natural Substances in Food will be a valuable resource for food scientists, food analysts and others working in food research, nutrition and safety.
