Cheryls childhood is full of love. Raised on the farm and the youngest of ten siblings, she worships God every Sunday and basks under the praise of her mother. But she has a tendency to look at the other side of life and wonder what its like. The popular crowd is so glamorous and full of fun. Could their way of living be better than hers? When Cheryl moves into her first apartment, things begin to fall apart. No longer under the protection of her mother, she is independent nowand that means she is in charge of making her own decisions. She starts hanging out with old schoolmates. When she realizes they are doing drugs, she throws caution to the wind and decides to try them. But drug addiction is not a pretty thing. Cheryls life spirals out of control as she becomes not only a user, but a dealer. She thinks she can get herself out of this mess alone, yet those years of Sunday school and church worship tell her she needs to turn to the Lord. Listening to that small voice proves more difficult than she imagined, however, and her partying lifestyle may just lead her in the opposite direction.
ONE WITH GOD These poems are my revelation of how through spiritual intervention, change and growth overcame my life, as I became One With God. There were those who prayed for me and with me. Through those prayers and my faith I grew in my personal relationship with the Father. I became one with Him through the Holy Spirit and His divine intervention. As you read these poems, should some circumstance bring back a recollection or you feel that you have been in similar situations, it is my hope that you too will come to agree that He is truly a way maker but mostly that You cant beat Gods giving. I pray that you will find the inspiration and come to the same conclusion in reading these poems as I felt when I wrote them, and that is Nobody can love me like Jesus for His goodness endureth forever. I present you now with a spiritual revelation of His goodness through poetry. God bless Mrs. Roberta M. Heck
The Dawn Of A New Day is a collection of poems that bring insight and awareness to everyday living. These poems are shared experiences of how the world looks through the eyes of someone who got a second chance in life. I share my rebirth to a new day and all the wonders that came with it. The sharing of daily experiences from the hardship of the aged, the dreams of the young to Veterans and their story, and how time or should I say How Old Father Time waits on no one. The principles that some are judged by and the morals others live by. But through prayer and faith in the Lord He will continually bring us through to that Dawn Of A New Day. I thought this would be a befitting title to follow my previous book After The Storm Is Over, because after the storm, The Dawn Of A New Day, brings calmness and growth. All praises to God, for the same one who holds The Heavens in place - Also guides Our steps. I pray that these poems will inspire, bless and comfort you.

Sharing the goodness of God through her writing, author Roberta Heck has compiled a fourth volume of personal poetry with a faith-based focus. Changes of the Mind shares the author's trials and tribulations and inspirational thoughts on a variety of topics- love, family, friendships, relationships, holidays, and God. Changes of the Mind led to the trilogy, which are Heck's first three books: After the Storm Is Over, The Dawn of a New Day, and One with God. This new volume, with more than one hundred poems, entails the beginning and end of her storm. These offerings are her moment of clarity and her witness to her personal storm and the not-so-pleasant aspects of life she's witnessed. Heck's poems speak of her personal testimony and her faith in God such as in "MY FIGHT", But I know there's a God/Up above you see/I know in His time/He alone shall set me free/One way or the other/This plight shall end/I'm fighting for my life/The Lord will help me win/'AND HE DID'. Though people weather different storms, Changes of the Mind illustrates that every simple thought can and will bring changes of the mind.
